Deadline 12 October: The Aix Festival 2026 Vocal Residency!

The Aix Festival is now accepting applications for the 2026 Vocal Residency, which will take place from 22 June to 9 July 2026 in Aix-en-Provence. Don't hesitate to apply online now until midnight on 12 October.  For over 25 years, the Académie du Festival d'Aix has been committed to nurturing a new generation of artists, by creating inspiring residencies that combine tradition and innovation. Lyric art, the genesis of opera, is one of its special features. The Académie creates a space for international artists to develop their careers, through encounters with recognized voice masters.  The Voice residency 2026 pursues the objectives of its predecessors, reinforcing the role of musical dramaturgy and vocal coaching in the profession of singers and pianists.

Bach Festival Society of Winter Park’s 2nd Annual National Oratorio Competition: Applications now open!

The Bach Festival Society of Winter Park’s 2nd Annual National Oratorio Competition is now accepting applications!  The Competition is open to unmanaged American singers with an interest in oratorio repertoire. During the week of February 9, 2026, eight amazing finalists will be invited to participate in coaching sessions, masterclasses, and rehearsals that will be open to the public as part of the 91st Annual Bach Festival in Winter Park, FL. The Competition final concert with full orchestra will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Knowles Memorial Chapel on the campus of Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Festival Napa Valley's Manetti Shrem Opera Program is a tuition-free intensive opera training program offering advanced study and performance opportunities for a small number of highly gifted and advanced vocalists and pianists in the idyllic setting of Napa Valley. 2026 National Opera Association's Carolyn Bailey Argento Vocal Competition: Deadline October 1!

Apply now to the National Opera Association's Carolyn Bailey Argento Vocal Competition, the finals of which will be held in Boston on January 10, 2026.  All selected finalists will receive $400 travel stipends to attend the competition! New repertoire requirement this year: an aria composed since 2000. Over $15,000 in cash prizes will be awarded in two divisions: Scholarship (ages 18-24) and Artist (ages 25-40). The National Opera Studio's Young Artist Programme is one of the UK's most respected opera training opportunities for singers and repetiteurs. The Centre de Perfeccionament del Palau de les Arts, the Young Artists Programme of Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia offers a project of professional insertion and training for young opera singers and répétiteur pianists which allows them to achieve experience at a high artistic level, with the aim of launching their careers and facilitating their professional introduction into the world of music. The Centre de Perfeccionament del Palau de les Arts wishes to train pianists in several specialties of this discipline, and it seeks to facilitate as much as possible their entry into the professional music world.  The training will take place from September to July and it will be full-time (Season 2025-2026 and 2026-2027).

Don't miss the September 15th deadline to apply to Opera Naples Resident Artists Program! Spend winter in beautiful southwest Florida from January 19 - March 15, 2026  as a Resident Artist with Opera Naples.  Four selected artists will be featured in principal and secondary roles in Turandot, L'elisir d'amore, and Scalia/Ginsburg and will also be featured in three concerts: "An Evening of Opera’s Greatest Hits," "Voices of Triumph," and "Stars and Standards: An American Songbook Celebration."  Resident Artists receive training and performance opportunities including regular coachings on roles and standard repertoire.  A weekly stipend, travel stipend, and local housing is provided.
