Auditions are underway for our 2026 season. Shows confirmed for the season are La Cenerentola, The Ballad of Baby Doe, and Fiddler on the Roof. Remaining auditions will be held in Dallas, New York City, Atlanta and virtually November.  We have been preparing resident artists for the professional world of opera since 1982.  Soprano Jordan Lee Gilbert (seen here) as Susanna in Act 3 of Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro (Resident Artist 2025). Audition Applications for the 2026 Festival Season with the Ohio Light Opera are due Sunday, October 26th. For 47 seasons, The Ohio Light Opera has dedicated itself to the exploration and production of the best of traditional operetta and musical theater. Our recently announced 2026 season includes: My Fair Lady (Lerner and Lowe, 1956), Damn Yankees (Adler and Ross, 1955), The Boys from Syracuse (Rodgers and Hart, 1938), The Merry Widow (Franz Lehár, 1905), Yeomen of the Guard (Gilbert and Sullivan, 1888), The Red Mill (Victor Herbert, 1906)). Auditions are available either in-person or virtually and OLO offers both professional and young artist contracts.  All offers are paid and include housing for the duration of the contract.

Solti-Peretti Repetiteur Course: Pianists who are interested in developing their skills as opera répétiteurs/coaches are invited to apply for the Georg Solti Accademia's 2026 Solti-Peretti Répétiteur Course, which takes place at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice, Italy. Faculty for the 2026 Repetiteur Course include: Jonathan Papp (GSA Artistic Director), Anthony Legge (Royal Opera House; ENO), James Vaughan (La Scala), Mark Markham (Renowned Pianist & Vocal Coach), and Rodrigo De Vera (Liceu, Barcelona). The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra (FWSO) announces an opening for a one-year position as Assistant Conductor. The successful candidate will assist Robert Spano, FWSO Music Director and serve as cover conductor for the Music Director, Pops conductors, and guest conductors for all orchestra services. The Assistant Conductor will lead education, family, and community concerts in addition to other conducting and administrative duties as specified by the Music Director and Artistic Operations department.
