Trade winter for Chilean summer: The Colchagua Vocal Institute 2027

Picture of South America.

IN 2026, WE PLANTED THE SEED. IN 2027, IT TAKES ROOT.

Trade winter for Chilean summer at a different kind of young artist program—part advanced training residency, part creative retreat, and entirely grounded in artistic partnership.

JANUARY 3–11, 2027 | COLCHAGUA VALLEY, CHILE
15 classical singers | 3 collaborative pianists

At the Colchagua Vocal Institute, artists do not move through a revolving door of brief encounters. Each singer receives five individualized voice lessons or repertoire coachings and works with the same collaborative pianist throughout the residency, creating time for interpretation, communication, and musical trust to develop. Pianists receive individual and group coaching while working closely with a cohort of four or five singers.

International faculty includes Dr. José Miguel Santelices (Dallas College), Dr. Alba Franco-Cancél and Steven Franco-Santiago (Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music), and Dr. David Córdoba-Hernández (Millsaps College), joined by guest specialists in Latin American repertoire, vocology, vocal health, performance psychology, artist wellness, and international career development.

THE ARTISTIC EXPERIENCE

• Individualized voice lessons and repertoire coachings
• Sustained singer–pianist partnerships
• Latin American and Hispanic repertoire
• Masterclasses and workshops in opera, acting, vocal health, vocology, performance psychology, artist wellness, and career development
• An internal performance laboratory
• A final public concert, professionally recorded and livestreamed

ONE RESIDENCY. EVERYTHING CONNECTED.

Tuition includes eight nights of on-site lodging at historic Centro Mariápolis, three meals daily, all instruction and performances, official program transportation, wellness activities, and curated cultural excursions through Chile’s celebrated wine country. Artists live, study, rehearse, dine, and explore together in a beautiful 17-acre setting designed for focused work, rest, and genuine community.

Singer tuition: $2,500 USD
Collaborative pianist tuition: $2,000 USD

“CVI was the experience I’ve been looking for my whole life—a compassionate community, excellent mentors, and a beautiful setting.”
