Founded in 2015, Canto develops well-rounded, stage-ready artists through a holistic training model that blends intensive coaching, role study, and performance opportunities at Dreamscapes Performing Arts Center. Each summer is made possible by the generosity of Canto’s donor community, which helps reduce tuition barriers and expand access for promising singers at every level.

Join FIO MONDO for our 2026 festival in Urbania, Italy!

Join FIO MONDO for our 2026 festival in Urbania, Italy! This season, we will present full productions with orchestra of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and Handel’s Alcina; as well as fully staged productions with piano of Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Donizetti’s I pazzi per progetto, and Gluck’s Il parnaso confuso. An additional opera, Spontini’s Li finti filosofi, will be performed with orchestra and in collaboration with the Pergolesi Spontini Foundation. Additional performances include recitals, concerts, and an opera scenes program. Our internationally-renowned team offers an all-encompassing artistic experience to our participants. The festival will include four weeks of Italian language classes, coaching sessions with Italian coaches, voice lessons, masterclasses with leading international artists, an immersive cultural experience, and much more! Prague Summer Nights 2026: Deadline Approaching!

Prague Summer Nights hosts aspiring young opera professionals for 4 weeks of individual coaching & voice lessons in Tábor & Prague with faculty from top schools such as Juilliard, UT Austin, Oberlin, Northwestern University, U-M and DU. Participate in an opera scenes program & performance, a cabaret night and fully staged opera productions of Puccini’s Suor Angelica at the Church of Sts. The Grant Park Music Festival welcomes singers of all voice types to apply to the Vocal Fellowship program, designed for emerging professional musicians from populations historically underrepresented in American symphonic choruses, including but not limited to underrepresented racial, ethnic, socioeconomic and geographic groups, who are attending or have graduated from a college, university or conservatory level music program. The 28th Annual Lotte Lenya Competition: apply now!

The Lotte Lenya Competition, the one-of-kind contest for singing actors across the entire lyric theater spectrum, returns for its 28th year!
