The Rochester Oratorio Society is now accepting applications for the fully-virtual 2026 Rochester International Vocal Competition, an opportunity for talented emerging singers to showcase their artistry, gain valuable exposure, and compete for $3,250 in cash prizes. Open to singers ages 18 through 35, the competition welcomes vocalists working in opera, oratorio, and art song. Applicants are invited to submit recordings representing their strongest work and demonstrating their abilities across a variety of musical styles.

USUO proudly supports Resident Artist singers and pianists with an integral step between graduate studies and a career. Participants spend nine months from September to May developing professional skills through mainstage performances with USUO, professional coaching, workshops, and masterclass sessions.  The USUO Resident Artists are the primary, in-person ambassadors for opera in many of our local communities, but most particularly among Utah’s K-12 schools.  Each individual should expect to share their talent with USUO’s staff, board, and donors as well as Utah’s most diverse audiences as they travel around our beautiful state.

Don’t miss the October 1 deadline to apply for the Opera Naples Resident Artist Program! January 21–March 25, 2027 in Naples, Florida, this selective intensive residency offers four emerging professional singers substantial roles in multiple fully staged productions spanning a wide variety of repertoire. All productions are performed with orchestra under the direction of Artistic and Music Director Ramón Tebar. Designed for ambitious singers ready for a demanding professional experience, the program requires strong preparation, versatility, discipline, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced schedule.  A stipend and local housing are provided. 

The 2026 AAMS Opera International Competition for Voice on Saturday, October 24 at the BPC, Bethesda, MD for all voice types for three divisions: High School, College, and Young Professionals, no age limits.  Apply by October 10th. The repertoire: Two contrasting pieces of any genres.  The selected winners will perform solo, duet, trio at the AAMS Singers’ Concert, Justice Forum, REACH Kennedy Center on Saturday, November 14 at 6:00 pm, and a small scholarship for the First-place winners for each division. The International Summer Academy & Competition 2027 is an intensive nine-day training programme in Japan for singers, conductors and orchestral musicians. The Vocal Division focuses on Romantic German Lied with professional orchestra. Singers progress from piano rehearsals to ensemble and orchestral sessions, with individual and group coaching throughout the Academy. All accepted singers perform with the professional orchestra in the Promenade Concert, Academy Concert or Master Concert. The programme also includes a competition with video, piano and orchestral rounds. The Academy takes place from August 7–15, 2027 at Saitama Arts Theater, Japan. Teaching languages are English, German and Japanese.
