Applications will close at the end of this week for Mascarade Opera, an opera training and performance programme at the Mascarade Opera Foundation in Florence, Italy for exceptionally talented young singers and répétiteurs. Artists train in a nurturing, collaborative setting with personalised, well-rounded development. The programme partners with top agencies and leading European opera houses, offering meaningful performance opportunities in professional settings. The Colchagua Vocal Institute is a residency for singers and pianists seeking meaningful artistic growth in a setting designed for reflection and connection. Opera Mississippi's John Alexander National Vocal Competition deadline is extended to November 14, 2025!  Divisions include Young Artist (age 18 - 24 as of October 31, 2025) and Professional Artist (age 25 – 45 as of October 31, 2025). Categories include Opera and Crossover. Singers may compete as a Young Artist or Professional Artist in Opera and/or Crossover categories. Singers who wish to compete in both categories must submit two videos for both categories, select BOTH, and pay the $60 application fee at checkout.

Camerata Bardi International Academy prepares and promotes young artists for professional careers, connecting study and stage through training in language, style, and interpretation, applied directly in rehearsals and full productions under expert guidance. The program builds artistic confidence, versatility, and identity as participants put their learning into practice on stage. In 2026, the Online Academy is paired with NYC productions of Mozart’s Così fan tutte (July, La MaMa) and Puccini’s Suor Angelica (November, The Flea), both fully staged, with orchestra, and co-produced with Teatro Grattacielo. The Saengerbund Awards are given each year to young singers who have demonstrated the potential for a professional performing career.  All entries are evaluated by professional casting directors, coaches, and conductors from opera companies around the US and in Germany.  The quality of the video submissions is of high importance in the process, and the singer's German diction is a major component of the evaluation.  Creative selections are appreciated, and they do help the applicants stand out from the preliminary pool of entries.  German operetta is a particularly good source for young singers.  The Lied should come from the standard repertoire.  Either selection can be a German translation.  Questions:  germansinging2026@gmail.com

Schmidt Vocal Arts is excited to once again offer an online competition for undergraduate singers: The Schmidt Vocal Competition Undergraduate Awards. This online competition will be held in Dec. 2025-Feb. 2026, culminating in a live-streamed awards ceremony on Feb. 14, 2026. Applications open Nov. 3! UPPER DIVISION: Four (4) Winners - $5,000 each. Auditions are underway for our 2026 season. Shows confirmed for the season are La Cenerentola, The Ballad of Baby Doe, and Fiddler on the Roof. Remaining auditions will be held in Dallas, New York City, Atlanta and virtually November.  We have been preparing resident artists for the professional world of opera since 1982.  Soprano Jordan Lee Gilbert (seen here) as Susanna in Act 3 of Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro (Resident Artist 2025). Jordan is about to embark on the National Broadway Tour of Phantom of the Opera as Christine.
