Opera Naples Resident Artist Program will take place January 12 through March 10, 2025 in beautiful southwest Florida.   Artists will be prominently featured in principal and secondary roles in the productions La bohème, Die Zauberflöte, and The Mikado, performed with orchestra conducted by Ramón Tebar.   They will also perform as soloists in performances of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra.  One-on-one coaching, masterclasses, educational outreach, and community concerts are additional components of the program.   The four selected artists receive a stipend and local housing in beautiful Naples, FL.  

The Saengerbund Awards are given each year to young singers who have demonstrated the potential for a professional performing career.  All entries are evaluated by professional casting directors, coaches, and conductors from opera companies around the US and in Germany.  The quality of the video submissions is of high importance in the process, and the singer's German diction is a major component of the evaluation.  Creative selections are appreciated, and they do help the applicants stand out from the preliminary pool of entries.  German operetta is a particularly good source for young singers.  The Lied should come from the standard repertoire.  Either selection can be a German translation.  Questions:  germansinging2025@gmail.com

The JTVA Elizabeth Greenfield Award is a $5,000 grant which honors a trailblazing Black singer by recognizing an outstanding present-day Black singer who is in the early stages of pursuing a professional career. It provides meaningful financial assistance to encourage and further advance the career development of promising Black vocal artist. The application deadline is September 3, 2024.

SVA’s second annual High School Nationals will take place from May 30-June 1, 2025 in partnership with Sarasota Opera. Competitors will sing on the stage of the William E. Schmidt Opera Theatre and compete for generous cash awards: First Place ($10,000), Second Place ($7,500), Third Place ($5,000), and Finalist ($650). The Kosciuszko Foundation accepts applications for its Marcella Sembrich International Voice Competition. The Competition will be held on the weekend of October 12-13, 2024 in NYC. Singers who are 20-32 years old are invited to apply. The Application deadline is extended to August 15, 2024. Over $20,000 in monetary awards and performances are offered as Competition prizes. The Jury features: Ryan Speedo Green, bass-baritone; Daniele Callegari, conductor; Beata Klatka, Polish National Opera; Lee Ann Myslewski, Wolf Trap Opera. Apply for the tuition-free 2024/25 MABC Emerging Artists training and performance program. This exciting yearlong educational initiative offers aspiring singers the chance to explore diverse musical genres and showcase their skills through performances in the MABC's Madison Sounds music series, special events like the Easter and Christmas festival services, and regular substitute singer gigs.  Six talented singers will be chosen through online auditions to participate in this year-long fellowship. Each of the six fellows will be granted a total stipend of $1,000. Apply by August 25.

Auditions for our 2025 Opera Theatre of Saint Louis Festival Season Gerdine Young Artist Program are open! Live auditions will take place in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Saint Louis, and Washington D.C. Young artists will have the opportunity to cover mainstage roles, sing supporting roles, sing in the choruses of mainstage productions, and be featured in Center Stage, a young artist showcase accompanied by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Additional one-on-one coachings, master classes, industry auditions, and community performances round out an enriching and fulfilling young artist festival season.

The Merola Opera Program under the artistic leadership of the San Francisco Opera Center announces 2025 opportunities for singers, pianists, and directors.  In addition to multiple performances, participants receive daily individual coaching in their discipline, training in diction, acting, movement, financial planning, leadership coaching, mental health and well-being, physical wellness, and branding from leading professionals in the opera field, as well as public master classes with renowned artists.
