Celebrating its 11th year in Tokyo, TIVAA is a well-established summer opera workshop offering professional training for advanced and young singers and pianists. The Young-Patronesses of the Opera/Florida Grand Opera Voice Competition takes place from April 30 to May 2 in Coral Gables, Florida. Singers who are currently enrolled in, or who have graduated from, a professional opera program are selected, based on two audio samples and resume, to participate in live auditions. The live auditions consist of two rounds before a panel of judges. All semifinalists who participate in the live auditions will receive at least a stipend of $1,000. Singers must provide their own travel and accommodations. The top award in the Senior division is $10,000, and in the Junior division, $7,500. Must be 30 or younger as of the application deadline (February 15, 2026). Application deadline is Sunday, February 15.
A summer program in a European festival? The deadline has just been extended to 28 February 2026. A limited number of major roles (and scholarships) are still available. Young Artists work in collaboration with world-class singers, directors, conductors, and coaches. The repertoire for 2026 includes Le nozze di Figaro, a bold new version of Orphée et Euridice (both with orchestra), Cabaret Paris Berlin in the baroque market hall, and recitals and Gala (with piano). In collaboration with Colorado College, Opera Theatre of the Rockies presents the 2026 Vocal Arts Festival. The Festival is open to all serious students of voice.
