The Hawaii Performing Arts Festival is accepting applications for its upcoming season in paradise. The 2017 season features Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado, and a double bill of Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. While all voices types are encouraged to apply, special consideration will be given to sopranos, mezzo-sopranos, and bass-baritones. A limited number of professional fellowships, scholarships, and work-study positions are available for qualifying applicants. Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Application deadline - March 10, 2017. Following the great success from the previous four years, OCAVA announces the 5th OCAVA-in-Rome 2017 Summer Program for singers in Rome, Italy. The young vocal artists from the United States and abroad will come to Rome to work with an internationally renowned faculty on this intensive 3-week program that combines daily voice lessons and Italian language classes, weekly master classes, lectures/workshops, group discussions, and three public concerts. This 3-week program is open to high school and college students/graduates, and accomplished amateurs who want to develop performance skills, improve vocal technique, and actively participate in music making and performances in a highly professional atmosphere.

Taos Opera Institute is a month-long intensive program designed to bridge the gap between academia and apprenticeships for the emerging young vocal artist. TOI was founded in 2007 we are taking applications for our 10th season! Our philosophy focuses on integrating and improving your technique, your physical and mental well being, and your artistry. 28 singers will be chosen to participate in interactive sessions with distinguished guests and professional artists, focusing on competition psychology, performance anxiety, audition strategies, stage deportment, dramatic interpretation and vocal stability. The Sonora International Opera Competition Francisco Araiza is striving to become an important stepping stone in the careers of up and coming opera singers from around the world, recognizing Francisco Araiza, one of Mexico’s most respected tenors and featuring over $40,000 dollars in prize money plus spectacular performance prizes, auditions at top houses, tuition-free training and artistic management.
