Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Academy | Opera di Firenze: INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE SELECTION OF OPERA SINGERS AND RÉPÉTITEURS/OPERA COACHES – Young artist program 2017/18. Enrollment and attendance: free. Scholarships equal to Euro 800,00 gross per month, from November 2017 to June 2018; and additional prizes. The Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino/Opera di Firenze and the affiliated musical institutions may offer the young artists title or cover roles in operas and concerts in their season programs. Master teachers in a magical festival: Music Fest Perugia 2017

Apply now for the 2017 Music Fest Perugia (MFP) Vocal Program: geared toward young singers, who need to concentrate on their technique, Italian diction, physical awareness and would like to gain valuable performance experience. This course offers extensive daily voice lessons, diction lessons, interpretation master classes and body work. We are happy to announce that the following masters have joined our opera workshop program: Eva Mei, John Norris, Maestro Francesco Cilluffo, Prof. Sharon Rostorf-Zamir, Samantha Malk, Prof. Giovanna Canetti, Prof. Kotoko Saito, Massimiliano Silvestri, Alessandro Alonzi, Maestro Ethan Schmeisser (TBC). International Lyric Academy in Rome & Viterbo (ILAR): Apply now for 2017!

The Summer 2017 International Lyric Academy (ILAR) offers young musicians and singers from all nations an educational and performance opportunity in Tarquinia, Italy. During several intensive weeks (July 5-25), ILAR’s emerging artists receive professional coaching and voice lessons, and participate in a full range of master classes, individualized instruction, concerts, recitals and rehearsals culminating in four performances of LE NOZZE DI FIGARO by W.A. Mozart. Productions involve full opera scenes in costume with ILAR’s Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, artists participate in a special session dedicated to opera scenes from Donizetti, Verdi and Mozart along with the opportunity to study the roles with Italian coaches and maestros.

Deadline March 19: 2017 Jensen Foundation Vocal Competition

The Jensen Foundation is pleased to accept applications for the 2017 Jensen Foundation Vocal Competition to be held May 15-20, 2017 at the Baruch Performing Arts Center in New York City. Opera professionals who are 25-35 years of age can compete for their share of more than $36,000 in awards, including a $15,000 first place award. Applications are accepted through March 19, 2017 but evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis - so apply today!

Study and Perform in Paradise: Hawaii Performing Arts Festival 2017

The Hawaii Performing Arts Festival is accepting applications for its upcoming season in paradise. The 2017 season features Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado, and a double bill of Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. While all voices types are encouraged to apply, special consideration will be given to sopranos, mezzo-sopranos, and bass-baritones. A limited number of professional fellowships, scholarships, and work-study positions are available for qualifying applicants. Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
