Classic Lyric Arts 2026: Final Days to apply!

FINAL DAYS TO APPLY!  CLA hosts three immersive training experiences exploring distinct facets of classical vocal repertoire: French opera and song, Mozart’s masterpieces, and Italian bel canto. CLA’s summer programs inspire emerging opera singers and pianists to awaken their artistry and realize their potential. CLA France: June 6-24: Périgord, France. An immersion into the essence of French singing, language, repertoire, and culture. CLA Mozart: July 15-July 26: Todi, Italy. An exploration of Mozart’s Italian operas at the highest level, with an emphasis on recitative and major scenes.  CLA Italy: July 30-August 18: Novafeltria, Italy. An immersion into the techniques and traditions of bel canto repertoire, as seen through Italian language and culture.

The 54th Annual George and Nora London Foundation for Singers Vocal Competition Deadline is fast approaching.  Applications being accepted through January 9 - Apply Now! Started in 1971, the George and Nora London Foundation competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious vocal competitions providing awards to young American and Canadian opera singers at the beginning of their careers. Winners receive significant financial awards and the chance to perform in front of influential figures in the opera community. This competition is a vital part of the foundation's mission to nurture and support the next generation of opera stars. Up to five singers are awarded the coveted George London Award, each receiving $12,000.

The Cooper-Bing Competition is an internationally recognized vocal competition dedicated to celebrating and supporting emerging operatic talent. Its mission is to discover, recognize, and encourage the next generation of young artists as they take their place in the professional opera world.  Widely known as “The Olympics of Opera,” the competition fosters excellence, provides meaningful artistic opportunities, and serves as a gateway for rising singers to be seen and heard.  Each year, five outstanding finalists take the stage to compete for the grand prize of $10,000. Applications for Opera Colorado's 2026-27 Artist in Residence program close in four days! Our next class of Artists in Residence will mark the start of an era defined by expanded opportunities, bold storytelling, and a continued commitment to developing the next generation of operatic voices. Apply by December 15th. Artists in Residence will now be considered for principal roles, in addition to supporting and covers, and take on principal roles in touring productions across Colorado. They will be integral in our expanded community-building efforts, and will be featured in statewide performances, concerts, and community events.
