Lakeland Symphony Orchestra and Lakeland Opera: apply now for paid chorus auditions!

Looking for professional Chorus for the Opera Cavalleria Rusticana. More interested in knowing if you’ve sung the chorus with another company and/or would like to hear you sing just a little bit acappella. If you’re able to provide an accompanist in the zoom Audition that is perfectly acceptable. Auditions by zoom or FaceTime. Each audition will be set up based on your schedule and correspondence with Chorus coordinator.  Compensation: $500 to be paid at the end of the single performance on January 21st, 2023. CHAUTAUQUA OPERA COMPANY’S 2023 Young Artist Program:  Apply by September 12

Chautauqua Opera Company is now accepting applications for the 2023 season’s Young Artist Program.  Apprentice and Studio Artists will sing and cover leading, featured, and supporting roles in all three mainstage productions.  Young Artists will also comprise the vocal ensemble for two productions.  Masterclasses, training, auditions, and ancillary performances are available to all Young Artists.  Travel, housing, a weekly stipend, and additional role fees as assigned.  Season dates and repertoire are outlined in the opportunity announcement.  No fee to apply.

Teatro Nuovo's 2023 Young Artist Program: ONE WEEK LEFT to apply!

ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT to apply for the opportunity to join Teatro Nuovo's 2023 Young Artist Program. Applications are accepted through Wednesday, 14th September with auditions in NYC, LA and Chicago. Teatro Nuovo's Resident and Studio programs are paid opportunities, which include performances in and around New York City, anchored by an innovative training program designed to provide opportunities and information not generally available elsewhere. The training program focuses on a small group of core bel canto skills, to help you assess and raise your current level in each. The program includes the collaboration of a period-instrument orchestra and in-depth seminars and lessons in historical performance practice and ornamentation.

Schmidt Vocal Arts Announces Second Annual National Competition! SVA’s second annual High School Nationals will take place from June 2-4, 2023 in partnership with Sarasota Opera. Competitors will sing on the stage of the William E. Schmidt Opera Theatre and compete for generous cash awards: First Place ($10,000), Second Place ($7,500), Third Place ($5,000), and Finalist ($650). One-on-one coachings, master classes, industry auditions, and community performances round out a fantastic and fulfilling young artist festival season! Sarasota Opera SEASON 2022-23: DEADLINE EXTENDED!

Deadline extended to August 31st! Join a prestigious and highly professional apprentice artists program! The company provides many performing opportunities throughout its fall and winter seasons. The training aspect of the program focuses on encouraging singers to give impassioned performances through vocal expression with an understanding of the meaning of the text, the poetry, and the music. In private coachings and classes, acting is approached through an efficiency of movement that brings out the meaning of the work rather than obscuring it. Applications for the Winter 2023 Apprentice Program are being accepted now through August 31st.

2022 JTVA Elizabeth Greenfield Award: Deadline approaching!

DEADLINE JUST TWO WEEKS AWAY! The JTVA Elizabeth Greenfield Award is a $5,000 grant which honors a trailblazing Black singer by recognizing an outstanding present-day Black singer who is in the early stages of pursuing a professional career. It provides meaningful financial assistance to encourage and further advance the career development of a promising Black vocal artist. Applications will be accepted only until September 6, 2022.
