Join FIO MONDO for our 2025 festival in Urbania, Italy, where we will present fully staged productions of La Bohème; Le nozze di Figaro; Il matrimonio segreto; Twenty-Four, or the Cure for Love; and Le gare generose. Singers cast in Le gare generose, which will be produced in collaboration with the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini, will also be considered for the Foundation's young artist program. Additional performances include recitals, concerts, and an opera scenes program. Participants will study Italian intensively, work with Italian coaches, and have lessons with our renowned faculty. Masterclass clinicians for 2025 are Clay Hilley and Eva Mei. Collaborative artists, assistant directors, and assistant conductors are also invited to apply.
The purpose of The Cooper-Bing Competition is to discover, recognize, and encourage young operatic talent. The Cooper-Bing Competition is an internationally recognized vocal competition that has celebrated and supported emerging young artists in opera. Dubbed “The Olympics of Opera,” this competition encourages talent, creates artistic opportunity, and helps welcome the next generation into the professional opera community. Five finalists compete for the grand prize of $10,000! The 2025 competition will be hosted by WOSU Classical 101’s Christopher Purdy as the Master of Ceremonies.
