Deadline November 15: The Canadian Vocal Arts Institute 2018

The Canadian Vocal Arts Institute is announcing auditions for the 15th voice and opera summer program on November 17-19. CVAI summer program is held in Montréal, from July 23 to August 11, 2018, at the Université de Montréal. ICAV is Co directed by Metropolitan Opera Coach Joan Dornemann and MET conductor Paul Nadler. The Canadian Vocal Arts Institute is a three week intensive program providing private voice lessons and coaching, acting, language and diction and opportunities to perform in the 20 public concerts. This program is open to singers in all stages of development and will be tailored to their individual needs. Invaluable opportunity for acquaintances and networking. Scholarships available! Full Fellowship: Toronto Summer Music Academy's 2018 Art of Song Program!

Designed for a small cohort of 8 singers and 4 pianists, this program is devoted to the study and performance of Art Song. During this 2 week session, participants study on full fellowship with voice and piano faculty members, receiving advice from a variety of musical traditions and perspectives. 2018 Art of Song Mentors include the great lyric tenor Christoph Prégardien, renowned collaborative pianist Julius Drake, and Art of Song Program Director Steven Philcox. Tri-Cities Opera: Principal and Resident artist applications; Master of Music (singers and pianists) deadlines approaching!

Tri-Cities Opera offers aspiring opera singers a unique blend of instruction and practical experience through its Resident Artist Training Program, providing the wide variety of skills required of a professional opera singer. Most Resident Artists have completed both a Bachelor and/or Master of Music Degree. Tri-Cities Opera prefers to cast the majority of its operatic roles with members of the Resident Artist Training Program. Performances take place in our rented 1,500-seat performance venue, The Forum Theatre and in our recently renovated Savoca Hibbitt Hall at the Tri-Cities Opera Center, which can be utilized as a proscenium, thrust, or black-box theatre. Principal and Resident Artist Auditions deadline is Monday October 23, 2017; Master of Music deadline November 15, 2017.

Teatro Nuovo Resident Artist Program: (formerly Bel Canto at Caramoor): Deadline October 6!

Oct. 6 deadline approaching! Teatro Nuovo, the new and expanded home of the Bel Canto at Caramoor program, is offering Resident Artists major mainstage roles along with a uniquely intensive training program. Ten roles are available in Tancredi and Medea in Corinto, alongside guest soloists Jennifer Rowley, Georgia Jarman, Tamara Mumford, and Santiago Ballerini. In addition, a full second cast of Tancredi will sing a performance (with orchestra) showcasing nine alternate pieces Rossini wrote after the premiere.
