This is a two-year program designed for singers to transition from academia to a national and/or international performing career.  The TCU Artist Diploma program offers weekly individualized voice instruction, vocal coaching, language/diction seminars, acting training and performance opportunities in opera, concert and solo repertoire.  In the final semester of study, Artist Diploma candidates receive digital press kits and present a showcase in New York City for casting directors, agents and industry professionals.   Auditions in New York and Fort Worth happening now! Opera Colorado is currently accepting Bass-Baritone/Bass applications for the 2020-2021 Artist in Residence Program. The 20-21 season will include roles in our Touring and Mainstage Productions: The Barber of Seville, The Pirates of Penzance, The Shining, Cavalleria Rusticana and Carmen. Along with being involved in each of these productions, the Artists in Residence will be engaged to sing additional concerts and performances all over the state of Colorado. TWO WEEKS LEFT TO APPLY! James Toland Vocal Arts Competition 2020

DEADLINE JUST TWO WEEKS AWAY! The 7th annual JTVA Vocal Competition welcomes exceptional singing in genres from opera, oratorio and art songs, to jazz, musical theater and cabaret standards. There are no specific age, education or residency requirements. Two levels of competition based on vocal experience are offered and ALL finalists receive a cash award. Awards total $50,000, as well as soloist performance opportunities with the Oakland Symphony and a July 2021 music festival in Provence, France. Applications will be accepted only until February 14, 2020.

Cultural Association I Cavalieri della Sacra presents L’anima del Belcanto 2020

The Cultural Association “I Cavalieri della Sacra” presents “L’anima del Belcanto” 2020 – June the 1st – July the 5th. Summer Program for Opera singers, vocal and acting coaching. In the first part of the Program (from June 1st until June 19th) the students will study Acting and Vocal technique to be trained for their debut in full Opera productions. In the second part of the Program (from June the 13th until July the 5th) the students will be chosen for the leading roles of Opera production of the Festival LE STELLE DELLE VALLI in Italy, Piemonte, and will work with the Stage Directors of: DON GIOVANNI Mozart, Two performances: June the 27th / July the 4th.  L’ELISIR D’AMORE  Donizetti: Two performances: June the 28th / July the 5th.

Free your voice in NYC this summer: Respiro Opera 2020

Respiro Opera, NYC is an intensive training program designed to aid the artistic development of the emerging young professional hosted at Opera America in the heart of Manhattan, NY. Classes focus on the breath and physical freedom with hands on Alexander Technique, Body Mapping and Yoga specifically tailored for singers. The freeing of the body and breath is essential and compatible with all vocal techniques. Participants will work with basic stagecraft and the skill set required for today's opera performer. Each singer is responsible for the word by word translation.  Program dates: June 12-21, 2020 all classes at Opera America, 330 Seventh Avenue between 28/29th streets. The Academy of Vocal Arts is devoted to training young artists with tremendous potential as international opera stars. Resident Artists from the United States and around the world are prepared through rigorous vocal instruction, coaching, and performance training. Many of the world’s most riveting opera singers began their careers at the Academy of Vocal Arts. Nearly fifty AVA alumni have joined the Metropolitan Opera’s roster since 1980, including Angela Meade, Stephen Costello, Bryan Hymel, Michael Fabiano and Ailyn Perez. As of 2017, AVA alumni have been honored to receive five of the past eight Richard Tucker Awards and five of the eleven Beverly Sills Artist Awards given by the Metropolitan Opera.

New Initiative: Heifetz Baroque Vocal Workshop 2020

Singers wanted for The Heifetz Baroque Vocal Workshop – a new initiative from the Heifetz International Music Institute expressly for aspiring and emerging professional singers wishing to deepen their understanding of Baroque music and style, through the prism of the Institute’s renowned instrumental teaching and unique Performance and Communication Training method, marrying world-class vocal and instrumental instruction with experiential classes in Movement, Drama, Public Speaking, and other methods designed to enhance physical, gestural and verbal communication skills and leadership capacity both on and off stage.
