Final reminder! Applications for Utah Vocal Arts Academy’s 12th Summer Opera Festival are due January 4th, 2023. UVAA is a training program for singers preparing for professional careers on the stage. This summer 2023, singers will perform in fully-staged productions of  Così fan Tutte, Cendrillon and a semi-staged production of Serse. Singers will not only sing full roles, but they will also receive regular coachings, enjoy acting classes, and work in masterclasses with Deborah Voigt and Frank Lopardo, among others. The International Meistersinger Akademie (IMA) in Neumarkt i.d.OPf. offers emerging artists an exceptional environment of excellence in the study of opera and Lied. Our prestigious staff and guest professors bring their expertise to the vocal and interpretive development of the young professional. The opening opera gala and an open-air concert are planned with the Nuremburg Symphony Orchestra. A Liederabend will be recorded by the Bavarian Radio and Craig Terry will lead a Cabaret concert. European agents, promoters, opera directors and festival managers are invited to hold auditions, give seminars and to take part in roundtable discussions with the young artists, thus providing the networking important to the profession.

There's only four days left left to apply for the Georg Solti Accademia's 2023 Bel Canto Course for Singers, which takes place in Castiglione della Pescaia, Tuscany, Italy from June 26 to July 16, 2023. Each year this course offers participants a three-week immersion in Italian opera singing, with a focus on language, style and technique in the 19th and early 20th century Italian repertoire. The 2023 faculty includes: Jonathan Papp (GSA Artistic Director), Richard Bonynge, Leo Nucci, Stefano Baldasseroni, and Jonathan Palmer Lakeland, among others. The alumni of the Accademia include some of the most accomplished young opera singers of our time, such as Freddie de Tommaso, Aigul Akhmetshina, and Hera Hyesang Park, among many others.

There's just under a week left to apply for the Solti-Peretti Répétiteur Course! Collaborating with a world-class faculty and talented young singers, our course offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to help young pianists develop the many skills required of a répétiteur. Each participant receives a full scholarship to the course, covering their tuition and accommodation expenses. On this course, participants will be given training and mentorship from some of today's most experienced opera conductors, coaches, and repetiteurs, including: Jonathan Papp (GSA Artistic Director and Vocal Coach @ Royal Opera House), Maestro Richard Bonynge, Anthony Legge (Opera Australia), and James Vaughan (Teatro alla Scala, Milan).

Two opportunities from Houston's oldest opera company: The Vocal Career Grant Competition will take place in Houston on January 29 where ten finalisits will vie for over $5,000 in prize money. Judges are Grammy Award winner Sasha Cooke, Houston Grand Opera's Director of Artistic Operations and Chorus Master Richard Bado, and Theater Under the Stars' Associate Assistant Director Monique Midgette. Undergraduate students are invited to apply to our Scholarship Program, with two recipients - $1,000 and $500 - being paid directly to the winner's school in their name. Applications are now open for singers and repetiteurs to join the National Opera Studio's 2023/24 Global Talent Programme. Training is completely free. Applications welcome from around the world. The Vienna Summer Music Festival is proud to announce its annual competition held in NYC on December 10th at Opera America.  Video submissions are due by December 1st for the competition and results will be annonced by December 4th for the inperson audition on the 10th beginning at 6:00pm on December 10th at Opera America.  The competition allows for interested prospective applicants to win scholarships to the Vienna Summer Music Festival as well as audition live for our many programs.  All competition members will be automatically considered for our 2023 season.  Our programs feature world class faculty and several productions all with orchestra.  Please visit www.viennasummermusic.com to learn more about our opportunities.
