Opera Caledonia Vocal Studio Course 29th June - 7th July 2026 An intensive vocal studio course providing the opportunity for a small group of singers and répétiteurs performing at conservatoire level or beyond to work with leading professionals from the opera industry–taking place amidst the Victorian splendour of the Edinburgh Society of Musicians. Faculty includes: David Gowland (Royal Opera House), Darrell Babidge (The Metropolitan Opera), Amanda Roocroft (soprano), David Cowan (Opera North), Judith Howarth (soprano), Derek Clark (Scottish Opera), Susannah Wapshott (Scottish Opera). Our next class of Artists in Residence will mark the start of an era defined by expanded opportunities, bold storytelling, and a continued commitment to developing the next generation of operatic voices. Classic Lyric Arts hosts three immersive training experiences exploring distinct facets of classical vocal repertoire: French opera and song, Mozart’s masterpieces, and Italian bel canto. CLA’s summer programs inspire emerging opera singers and pianists to awaken their artistry and realize their potential. CLA France: June 6-24: Périgord, France. An immersion into the essence of French singing, language, repertoire, and culture. CLA Mozart: July 15-July 26: Todi, Italy. An exploration of Mozart’s Italian operas at the highest level, with an emphasis on recitative and major scenes.  CLA Italy: July 30-August 18: Novafeltria, Italy. An immersion into the techniques and traditions of bel canto repertoire, as seen through Italian language and culture.
