APPLY TODAY for the opportunity to join Teatro Nuovo's 2023 Young Artist Program. Applications are accepted through Wednesday, 14th September with auditions in NYC, LA and Chicago. Teatro Nuovo's Resident and Studio programs are paid opportunities, which include performances in and around New York City, anchored by an innovative training program designed to provide opportunities and information not generally available elsewhere. The training program focuses on a small group of core bel canto skills, to help you assess your current level in each, and to help you raise that level.  The program includes the collaboration of a period-instrument orchestra and in-depth seminars and lessons in historical performance practice and ornamentation.

The renowned mezzo-soprano leads a series of free workshops for young vocalists, culminating in a series of live master classes at Carnegie Hall. MEROLA OPERA PROGRAM - Deadline August 26

The Merola Opera Program, Carrie-Ann Matheson, Artistic Director and Markus Beam, General Manager, San Francisco Opera Center announce 2023 application opportunities for singers, offering performance opportunities, holistic training, and career development, and provides a weekly allowance, round-trip transportation from residence to San Francisco, and shared-accommodation housing. For five years after leaving Merola, alumni may be eligible, with Merola's approval, to receive up to a total of $12,000 in career grants, with a maximum of $6,000 in any single year. Each year singers and pianists are chosen from the Merola Opera Program to join the prestigious Adler Fellowship Program.  Submission deadline: 8/26/22

The 2022 Loyola Dramatic Voice Symposium: apply now!

The Loyola Dramatic Voice Symposium brings together world-renowned artists and teachers in the field of opera to present masterclasses and lectures for young dramatic singers and for teachers of voice. Full registration includes two days of professional development. Anyone can attend but only 16 auditioned singers will participate in the masterclasses. At the end of the symposium, two participants will be selected to perform on Saturday night with the guest artists. One participant will receive a $500 Encouragement award.  Clinicians include Luretta Bybee, Clifton Forbis, Greer Grimsley, Joseph Evans, Amy Johnson, Carol Rausch, Tyler Smith, and Michael Bunchman. Join a prestigious and highly professional apprentice artists program! The company provides many performing opportunities throughout its fall and winter seasons. The training aspect of the program focuses on encouraging singers to give impassioned performances through vocal expression with an understanding of the meaning of the text, the poetry, and the music. In private coachings and classes, acting is approached through an efficiency of movement that brings out the meaning of the work rather than obscuring it. 2022 JTVA Elizabeth Greenfield Award Applications Now Open!

APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED! The JTVA Elizabeth Greenfield Award is a $5,000 grant which honors a trailblazing Black singer by recognizing an outstanding present-day Black singer who is in the early stages of pursuing a professional career. It provides meaningful financial assistance to encourage and further advance the career development of a promising Black vocal artist. The application deadline is September 6, 2022.

Mascarade Opera Foundation in Florence 23-25: apply now!

Applications are open for Mascarade Emerging Artists, an opera training and performance programme at the Mascarade Opera Foundation in Florence, run in collaboration with Teatro La Fenice in Venice, for exceptionally talented young singers and répétiteurs. Training provision is carefully structured around performance opportunities, including main stage roles and covers at Teatro La Fenice and other partner houses across Europe. Consequently, artists can enjoy the unique prospect of translating what they have learnt into professional practice on stage. Places on the programme are entirely funded with artists receiving tuition, maintenance and accommodation grants equivalent to entry-level salaried positions in the industry.

The VOCAL IMMERSION PROGRAM at CASTLETON (ViP) is a 2-week performing arts mentoring program for a select group of emerging professional artists. World-renowned singers Michelle DeYoung, Paul Groves, actress Dietlinde Turban Maazel, and pianist-conductor Jeremy Frank are joined by collaborative pianists, world percussion artist Tom Teasley, and guest faculty Susan Graham, Bryn Terfel, Stephen Wadsworth. ViP is merit-based and tuition-free. Shared houses and meals at Castleton farms provide full immersion and focus. No age restrictions. Program Dates: Jan 9-21, 2023.
