The 53rd International Vocal Competition LiedDuo is held 20-24 November 2019 in 's-Hertogenbosch (The Netherlands) and involves Lied repertoire for singer-pianist duos. The International Jury includes prominent musicians such as soprano Dame Felicity Lott (president), mezzo-soprano Jard van Nes, baritone Thomas Oliemans, pianists Graham Johnson and David Selig, and programmer Mirjam Wijzenbeek (Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam). Prize money: more than € 15,000 plus engagements. Masterclasses, jury feedback, travel refund possible for finalists, accommodation at host families. All rounds open to the public. DEADLINE EXTENDED TO APRIL 15! Women Conductors from around the world are invited to apply to the fifth residency of the Linda and Mitch Hart Institute of Women Conductors (HIWC) at The Dallas Opera. This year residency will take place in Dallas from October 27 to November 9, 2019. This year the selected conductors will be also featured at the Women in Classical Music Symposium presented by The Dallas Symphony Orchestra during the residency. This program will include hands one conducting opportunities with the Dallas Opera Orchestra, masterclasses with Emmanuel Villaume, Nicole Paeiment and Carlo Montanaro. The Handel Aria Competition was created to promote the performance of Handel’s extensive vocal repertoire. The final round will take place on Friday June 7, 2019 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Mead Witter School of Music. Contestants must be 18-35 years old as of the day of the finals. Past finalists are eligible to audition, with the exception of first prize winners. Corso d'Opera offers a unique opportunity for young singers to grow and increase skills on all points of view. The residency will be held in one of most astonishing places of Tuscany, Cortona, and will be led by great and renowned artists such as Mariella Devia - Hugo De Ana - Roberto Abbado - Roberto Scandiuzzi and excellent professionals of several sectors, such as bioenergetics, body training and self-managing.
