Years of training prepare you to sing—but stepping into the professional world is another challenge, especially in Germany, where so many of the stable work opportunities are. BOA Opera School is designed to bridge that gap, providing the structure, experience, and support to help you make the transition with confidence. Audition for an industry panel for feedback. Perform in four fully staged operas per year—two with orchestra. Take intensive, daily German classes and gain working-level German. Refine stagecraft and technique to a professional level. Record a polished audition package highlighting your personal brand. With weekly seminars, audition bootcamp, and expert Faculty, BOA Opera School gives you the tools to step beyond training and onto the stage. 

The Harold Haugh Light Opera Vocal Competition has been held since 2000. Previously held in Jackson, MI, it has now been relocated to Ann Arbor, MI. Singers are judged by a distinguished panel on two songs, one a technical number and the other a number from light opera. From the initial round, finalists are chosen to compete in the finals round in the evening. Cash awards will be presented. Vocal quality and the ability to act and entertain are given equal weight. The competition was named for a man who followed a long professional career with years of teaching singers how to succeed. The current panel will give all entrants advice on building their presentation as well.

Venice Opera Concert & Competition: March 2–6, 2026 • Opera America’s Scorca Hall, NYC. Presented by New York Music Productions, in collaboration with Venice Opera & B.G.G. Music LLC. A professional concert opportunity for emerging and established opera singers, culminating in a public performance and a $1,000 career-support award.  Designed for singers seeking meaningful public performance experience. Materials must be received by: Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Taos Opera Institute was established as an intensively holistic program designed to bridge the gap between academia and apprenticeships. Our philosophy focuses on integrating and improving your technique, your physical well being, and your artistry. ​ TOI is centered in the Taos Ski Valley, NM, at 9500ft, where 28 Young Artists spend 5 weeks working with our Faculty. Singers receive 4 lessons per week (in 4 languages), totaling an entire semester's worth! Singers perform their arias in 2 public performances weekly, for a total of 8 aria performances. Numerous additional performance opportunities are presented as well. ​​ Guest Faculty present sessions on acting technique, art song prep, performance anxiety, and much more. 

Applications are now being accepted for the 10th Mt. Fuji International Opera Competition of Shizuoka, to be held from Nov. 14 to Nov. 22, 2026. The 1st prize winner will receive 3 million yen (approximately USD $19,000). We also offer substantial support for international applicants, including financial support for traveling and accommodation. Applications are accepted via the official website. Deadlines are quickly approaching to apply to be a 2026 Seagle Festival Emerging Artist. Both In-Person and Video auditions are accepted. 2026 Summer season includes H.M.S. Pinafore, Cosi fan tutte, Dead Man Walking, The Sound of Music, plus a children's opera and several concerts. Opportunity includes voice lessons, coaching, career planning, master classes, and major company auditions.

Join FIO MONDO for our 2026 festival in Urbania, Italy! This season, we will present full productions with orchestra of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and Handel’s Alcina; as well as fully staged productions with piano of Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Donizetti’s I pazzi per progetto, and Gluck’s Il parnaso confuso. An additional opera, Spontini’s Li finti filosofi, will be performed with orchestra and in collaboration with the Pergolesi Spontini Foundation. Additional performances include recitals, concerts, and an opera scenes program. Our internationally-renowned team offers an all-encompassing artistic experience to our participants. The festival will include four weeks of Italian language classes, coaching sessions with Italian coaches, voice lessons, masterclasses with leading international artists, an immersive cultural experience, and much more!
