The Handel Aria Competition was created to promote the performance of Handel’s extensive vocal repertoire. The final round will take place on Friday June 7, 2019 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Mead Witter School of Music. Contestants must be 18-35 years old as of the day of the finals. Past finalists are eligible to audition, with the exception of first prize winners. Corso d'Opera offers a unique opportunity for young singers to grow and increase skills on all points of view. The residency will be held in one of most astonishing places of Tuscany, Cortona, and will be led by great and renowned artists such as Mariella Devia - Hugo De Ana - Roberto Abbado - Roberto Scandiuzzi and excellent professionals of several sectors, such as bioenergetics, body training and self-managing. Deadline is approaching for 2019 OPERA NEO VOCAL COMPETITION! Application Deadline: Friday, March 15, 2019. 10-12 singers will be selected to come to San Diego for the semifinal round, where they will be housed free of charge for the duration of the competition. There will be 5-6 finalists selected to perform in the final round. All semifinalists and finalists will be given the opportunity to meet with each judge for individual feedback.
