Festival Gegen den Strom ​celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2021 with the beginning of a new project, the Jacques Offenbach Grand Prix. Initially only held online due to Corona, it changes to a live event held in Bad Ems, a World Heritage since 2021, where the composer lived for 8 years at the height of his creativity and premiered a number of his works in the famous Marble Hall. The Jacques Offenbach Society is also based in Bad Ems. After a very successful first year, international singers of all ages and nationalities are expected. The prize consists of money prizes and possible engagements within the annual program of the Festival Gegen den Strom and also contacts to other international opera houses and opera companies. Career Bridges provides grants for coaching in voice, diction, language, repertory and stage deportment. Further grants include career guidance, performance opportunities, and assistance in career promotion. We continue to provide mentoring, evaluating and further grants for a period of three years. Career Bridges is inviting all applicants to apply for our 18th annual Career Bridges grants and awards. Recipients of our grants will receive awards ranging from $3500-$500 encouragement grants. Purpose: opera singer’s professional training and career consolidation. Attendance of the YAP: free of charge. Scholarships: euro 8,000 (eight thousand) gross a year for each candidate admitted to the YAP. Artistic productions: participations in operas and concerts of Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino / Florence Opera House and partner musical Institutions.

Last year the US had: 6 in the Finals, 3 in the Finals Concert and the First Prize Winner!  Vincero offers the opportunity to be heard by casting directors of top European theaters, spending a few days in the birthplace of opera and exploring the magic of Napoli. Deadlines for applications are April 30th for the May audition cities of: Miami, New York, Philadelphia and Houston and June 5 for San Francisco. 2022 NTD Television 8th International Chinese Vocal Competition will be held at Merkin Hall of Kaufman Music Center in New York City from September 29 to October 2, 2022.  The application deadline is September 15, 2022.   The aim of this competition is to promote traditional Bel Canto vocal arts of pure authenticity, pure goodness, and pure beauty, and provide a global arena for all Chinese vocalists to showcase their talents.  NTD is a global broadcaster with the mission of reviving traditional arts.   Open to all Chinese (at least one-fourth Chinese ancestry) vocalists of the age between 18 and 50 years old.   Please visit vocal.ntdtv.com, or send email to vocal@globalcompetitions.org.

Handel Opera Academy is a new opera academy created to achieve the outmost artistic excellency for a new generation of emerging artists. For the duration of a month you will rehearse and perform one of the roles in Handel's "Giulio Cesare in Egitto", while having the opportunity to attend a wide range of masterclasses, lessons and coachings by our experienced and passionate team of professionals. Aquilon Music Festival (apply by 4/3/22). Located in the heart of Oregon's wine country, our program is geared toward students who are ready for advanced studies in stagecraft, vocal technique, movement, and diction. All students receive instruction from renown voice teachers, language and style coaches, and group instruction in acting, dance, and audition techniques. Currently, we invite singers to apply for our opera workshop. The repertoire includes scenes from the Magic Flute, Così fan Tutte, La bohème, Eugene Onegin, La Traviata, L'elisir d'amore, and Dido and Aeneas. Please note that our needs for most roles in the mainstage production of OURLAND have been met. We are still looking to cast the roles of Barkeeper and the Doctor.
