Setting Your Interests

As vocal competitions, young artist program audition listings, masterclasses and more appear in your queue, YAP Tracker offers tracking functionality to help you keep tabs on programs that are of interest and remove programs that aren't.  For the opportunities that aren't of interest, you have two options for dismissing the items from your queue:

  • Mark that the opportunity isn't of interest this year
  • If you mark that you are not interested in an opportunity this year, the next time the company publishes a new listing for that particular program, it will appear in your alerts. So, for example, if you have said you are not interested in Opera Company A's Young Artist Program this year, it will still reappear in your queue next year. Likewise, if Opera Company A posts a separate opportunity, say, for chorus auditions this year, it will appear in your queue this season and in future seasons (unless you mark your interest accordingly)

  • Mark that the opportunity won't ever be of interest
  • The "Not interested ever" option allows you to dismiss a program from your queue for this season and for future seasons; it is program name specific, not program type or company specific. So, for example, if Opera Company A's Resident Artist Program is not something that would ever be of interest to you, you can more the "Not interested ever" option and it will be removed from your queue now and when it returns at a later date (caveat! see * below). However, if Opera Company A holds another set of auditions for a different opportunity, like a chorus or mainstage audition, that item will appear in your queue.

*Caveat! We ask that companies keep program names consistent from season to season (such as naming their program "Resident Artist Program Auditions" rather than something like "2013 Resident Artist Program Auditions"). If they do keep it consistent and you mark that the program will never be of interest, it will not appear in your queue again. Unfortunately, some companies do need to adjust a program name and thus an item that might have otherwise been filtered will remain in your queue.
