Ukrainian Art Song Summer Institute 2022: Deadline May 31!

Imagine Being Part Of The Ukrainian Art Song Summer Institute From August 24-28, 2022 At The Royal Conservatory’s TELUS Centre For Performance And Learning In Toronto.

The Ukrainian Art Song Summer Institute returns for its fourth successful year from August 24-28, 2022, at the Royal Conservatory’s TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning in Toronto.

We encourage artists (professional or emerging, upper-undergraduate or graduate) to audition now. Be one of only eight who develop their classical singing skills while learning a rich and varied repertoire of Ukrainian art songs. The Summer Institute provides intensive one-on-one coaching and masterclasses by our professional faculty in an informal setting, culminating in a public recital by the eight artists.

Our 2022 faculty, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience that will expand the horizons of the participants, includes
Benjamin Butterfield, co-director/vocal coach; Dr. Melanie Turgeon, co-director; Andrea Ludwig, vocal coach; Steven Philcox, collaborative pianist; Dr. Leanne Regehr, collaborative pianist.

The Ukrainian Art Song Summer Institute provides a rare opportunity for emerging artists and students to learn the fine points of dramatic singing from highly accomplished professionals eager to share their experience in an informal setting. The small-group format fosters collegiality, ideal for making long-term contacts in the classical music industry.
