Cultural Exposure
Tokyo Opera Studio refuses to be a program where you fly thousands of miles and then see nothing because you never leave the rehearsal room. We build regular organized cultural activities into your schedule, with six-hour (3x3x3 on-off-on) staging days, with lessons, classes, and coachings expanding your artistic horizons. Past seasons have included traditional music workshops, Kabukiza visits, traditional festivals, and guided visits to Tokyo’s temples and shrines.
Network with Working Professionals
Our faculty are working singers, directors, and conductors who are highly connected. Since 2025, three alumni have booked professional debuts in Asia or the U.S. directly from connections made in our first two seasons.

Want to see opera from a new angle? Our program also has robust apprentice programs in stage direction, arts administration, conducting, orchestra, and collaborative piano.
