Studio Lirico NYC will produce a Masterclass Series for six participants with internationally renowned soprano Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs (www.elizabethblancke-biggs.com) and Mo. Michael Recchiuti (www.michaelrecchiuti.com).
The course will consist of four intensive two hour coaching classes on every aspect of preparing and recording your audition arias leading toward a professionally recorded high definition recital performance session.
Within two days of the recording singers will receive high definition video recordings of their performances usable for all applications and competitions.
Every opera company, competition, school, or young artist program requires video submissions -before you can even audition! It is your responsibility, and in your best interests as a young singer to produce the best possible representations of your work. A brilliant world-class interpreter of the most demanding roles in the spinto-drammatico soprano repertory, Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs entered the international opera scene in the Teatro Regio di Torino production of the critical edition of Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda under the baton of Evelino Pido. Her studies with the great Virginia Zeani equipped her to go on to excel in all of the virtuoso dramatic bel canto roles; her repertory also encompasses a wide range of Verdi and Puccini lirico and lirico spinto roles, Wagnerian and German Repertory as well as a wide array of dramatic roles.
Conductors with whom she has sung include Lorin Maazel, Bruno Bartoletti, James Levine, Cristoph Eschenbach, Sir Andrew Davis, Marcello Viotti, Gianandrea Noseda, Fabio Luisi, Phillipe Augin, Carlos Miguel Prieto, Evelino Pido, Maurizio Benini, Enrique Patron de Rueda and Enrique Batiz. She has sung at many of the world's great opera houses to great critical acclaim.
Michael Recchiuti is active internationally as conductor, pianist, and accompanist. He has collaborated with artists of the international opera stage, and Grammy and Tony award winners such as Carlo Bergonzi, Giuseppe Giacomini, Placido Domingo, Justino Diaz, Roberta Peters, Adrianna Maliponte, Renee Fleming, Ceclia Gasdia, Ghena Dimitrova, Fiorenza Cossotto, Dolora Zajick, Chris Merritt, Paolo Gavanelli, Roberto Scandiuzzi, Stuart Neill, and Vanessa Williams.
His discography includes the newly released “Vaghissima sembianza”, a collection of the Arie di Stile Antico di Stefano Donaudy with soprano Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs; “Chris Merritt dal Vivo”, where he conducted the orchestra da Camera di Padova e del Veneto, and was awarded the Palme d’Or, and chosen as “Best CD of the Year” by Opera News, and CD Classica; “English Art Songs” featuring Britten’s the Holy Sonnets of John Donne and Roger Quilter songs, with tenor Paul Austen Kelly; and Alberto Mizrahi’s “Voice of a People” a collection of Cantorial Showpieces, Ashkenazic and Sephardic art songs.
