Opera NEO is created for the next generation of opera singers to prepare and inspire them to perform at the highest level. We provide individual attention and a welcoming community for safe exploration. Fully staged open-air opera production with orchestra, Cabaret, concerts, and an intensive opera workshop for the 21st century artist. Join us and spend an unforgettable summer in one of the most beautiful beach-cities in the world!
Apprentice Artists prepare and perform a role in a fully staged opera production with orchestra! They also participate in the "Cabaret" as part of the ensemble. (Full tuition waiver and a small stipend!)
Studio Artists perform several opera, operetta and musical theater scenes in the fully staged Cabaret production, cover main stage roles when appropriate, sing in the ensemble for the main stage production and perform in concerts with piano or chamber ensemble. All Studio Artists receive two weekly voice lessons and a weekly private coaching on their own repertoire, mock audition with our staff with instant feedback on performance, audition presentation, promotional materials and portfolio.
In addition, all singers benefit from:
* Master classes in vocal performance, stagecraft and audition techniques;
* Movement classes (yoga, tai-chi, stage movement, stage combat);
* Seminars and discussions on role preparation and character analysis;
* Business seminars: resumes, headshots, websites, PR and networking.
* One-on-one musical and dramatic coachings;
* Guidance in period performance practice, ornamentation and style
* Diction coaching
* Individual feedback and career advice

1. A MAINSTAGE OPERA PRODUCTION: DON GIOVANNI by W. A. Mozart
2. CABARET Performances
(Fully staged opera, operetta and musical theater scenes and cabaret songs in a relaxed cabaret setting.)
