The John Alexander National Vocal Competition: deadline November 1!

Now in its 9th year, participants and winners of the John Alexander National Vocal Competition have gone on to enjoy successful careers in opera and musical theatre. It's a chance to sing for some of the leading casting and stage directors, win cash prizes, and build relationships that will last a lifetime.

Eight finalists are chosen from virtual auditions, and invited to perform at the "Future Stars of the Stage" Winners’ Concert on Feb. 13, 2023, in Jackson, MS. Final prizes and placement will be announced at the concert. Monetary prizes for First Place are $1,200, Second Place $900. Housing and travel to and from Jackson covered by Opera Mississippi. Winners are also considered for roles in upcoming Opera Mississippi productions.
