Deadline March 15: Druid City Opera Workshop 2022

Directed by Paul Houghtaling, the Druid City Opera Workshop is an intensive opera training and young artists program, offering a range of performance opportunities for singers, apprentice coach/pianists, and apprentice stage directors.

May 18-26, 2022

• A rich and rewarding variety of experiences and training will be offered, including classes in acting, dance, stage combat, improvisation, music business, and other skills.  Each young artist will receive two private coachings on audition repertoire of their choosing, and participate in a mock audition event, as well as the final performance of the assigned opera scenes.  

The application is free and easy - resume, headshot, and two recordings.  Eleven years of exceptional in-person training has prepared the Druid City Opera Workshop faculty well for an exciting week of learning and performance experience. Join us, May 18-26 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for a week of singing and sharing and expanding your network. The week will include classes in acting, movement, yoga, improvisation, and the business of singing, in addition to one-on-one musical coachings.  The experience will end with a public performance of scenes and excerpts of work from the week on Thursday evening, May 26.   Check out our website for more information and a list of faculty.
