Featured listing: Brooklyn Summer Opera Institute 2015

BSOI invites you to join us for a two-week opera intensive, culminating in fully staged and costumed performances of Mozart's Don Giovanni. Artists will receive daily musical coaching and stage work with a director, participate in a master class, and perform with a professional orchestra.

MANY ROLES AND COVERS STILL AVAILABLE including Zerlina, Elvira, and ALL male roles. Auditions will be held via recording, and are due May 1. If interested, please email the following to brooklynsummeroperainst@gmail.com:

-Names and contact information of two musical references
-Audio or video recording of two arias, preferably one Italian

Participants in the program will receive:

Opening masterclass with Dr. Donna Zapola-Connolly (Head of vocal studies, NJCU)
Diction coaching with Erica Strauss, soprano (Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago)
Video of performances
Yoga/Movement class
Opening day luncheon
Rehearsals and performances will take place at St. Brendan's Church, 1525 East 12th Street, Brooklyn, NY.

There will be multiple casts plus a cover cast. Covers will sing chorus in the main productions and have their own performance with piano.
