Be inspired: Brevard Music Center's Janiec Opera Company 2018

Brevard Music Center provides a congenial summer community for young musicians of exceptional gifts.  Four hundred students, ages 14 – 29, enroll each year. All students and an artist faculty of 65 live and work on the Music Center campus, 180 wooded acres in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina.

Each summer the opera program at Brevard enrolls approximately 30 singers who, together, constitute the Janiec Opera Company. Students receive daily coaching, participate in masterclasses, and rehearse their roles under the close instruction and mentorship of seasoned professionals in the opera world. All productions utilize professional directors, designers, costumers, et al.

Become part of the BMC community. Practice your craft and develop your skills in a picturesque rehearsal studio – in nature, beside the lake, amongst the white pines, alongside the stream. Share a communal lunch or an impromptu conversation with faculty and guest artists in our cafeteria. Interact with patrons who fill our auditoriums and love to hear your music.

We welcome you, the next generation of musicians and artists. We encourage you, and challenge you, to experience the magic of the Brevard Music Center. In a community of musicians, you will be transformed. On the stage and in the classroom, you will be inspired. In just one summer, you will make new friendships that will last a lifetime.

This is Brevard. Be inspired. Be here.
