Canta in Italia "Sing in Italy" Experience Tuscany Now entering its 14th summer of study abroad, Canta in Italia offer singers the unforgettable experience of living and studying in the beautiful Tuscan city of Lucca. Located 45 minutes west of Florence, the city where opera was born, Lucca offers a small town experience with easy access to Italy's major cultural center. Puccini, Boccherini and Catalani were all born in Lucca, known throughout Italy as "the musical city". From June 4 through June 30, students are immersed in Italian language and culture, and stimulated by an intensive course of vocal study and performance. The program includes 2 hours of daily language instruction by native speakers, voice lesson and/or coaching sessions, weekly master classes with Alan Held and Claudia Catania. Apply now.

For our second round of casting we invite applications from men and mezzos (all soprano roles are cast). The Lyndon Woodside Oratorio-Solo Competition: Semifinals April 7, 2018, NYC; Finals Concert 4/14/18 in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. In 1977 the Oratorio Society of New York inaugurated an annual Solo Competition designed to encourage the art of oratorio singing and to give talented young singers an opportunity to advance their careers. The Competition has become international in scope and well-known in the music world and is the only major competition to focus exclusively on oratorio singing. $22,000 in cash prizes. Age Limit 40 years – must be born after Jan. 1, 1978. Open to singers who are early in their oratorio career.

Manhattan Opera Studio, the Summer Program that brings you to Carnegie Hall announces auditions for the 2018 Summer Festival. Young artists from top conservatories and schools of music in the United States and abroad are chosen to come together in the heart of Tuscany for an intensive four-week program that combines language and musical study with Italian cultural immersion. Program participants work closely with a faculty of internationally distinguished artists, teachers, coaches, conductors, and stage directors, and may earn up to six Oberlin College credits with successful course completion.
