The Opera Birmingham Vocal Competition will be held again this year in May 2014, and the application is now live on YAP Tracker. An early bird discounted application fee will be offered through March 21, and a final deadline of April 18 applies. The Competition is open to singers who are currently permanent residents of the United States of America up to age 35, and prizes range from $1,000 through $3,500.

ASPS is proud to announce the launch of this upcoming year’s performance and educational series Spring into Song. Emerging artists will be featured in our vocal recital-competition and master class series, with coaching and collaboration with world –renowned pianists, vocal coaches, and master performers from all over the world, including Thomas Grubb, Elem Eley, Marni Nixon, Dalton Baldwin, Thomas Muraco and more. Application Deadline to Apply is March 22, 2014.

The Miami Opera Institute offers singers numerous activities designed not only to enhance, but also to develop the breadth and depth of skills a singer needs in the professional arena. World-class faculty will work with each participant throughout the program, which will conclude with participants performing full-length operas with the Institute’s Orchestra. Application Deadline for upcoming auditions is February 15th and the Video Deadline is March 1st.

DC's newest opera company is casting principal roles for its April 2014 production of DON GIOVANNI, a fully-staged, site-specific performance in DC's glamorous Mayflower Hotel. Applications are being accepted now through February 9 on YAP Tracker; auditions will be held in New York and Washington, DC.

The Institute for 17th Century Music at Queens College will offer a one-week, intensive training program in Baroque opera. The deadline for singers is April 7, and the deadline for instrumentalists is May 15. The program is in residence at the Aaron Copland School of Music of Queens College in June 2014, and applications are now open through YAP Tracker.

HGO’s Young Artists’ Vocal Academy was established in 2011 to work specifically with singers at the undergraduate level. This season, HGO is offering two one-week sessions of YAVA to choose from: May 18-25 and May 26-June 2, 2014. The deadline to apply is March 3, 2014, and auditions are by recording only.

Open Space is a one-of-a-kind performance-based collaborative training experience for emerging opera professionals that truly challenges the conventions of opera performance, production, and design. This program is a partnership between The Banff Centre, Against the Grain Theatre, and the Canadian Opera Company. The application deadline is January 30, 2014, so apply now!

JTVA has extended the final deadline for applications to our first annual Vocal Competition! Singers can submit their applications until February 24, 2014. Prizes total over $15,000 and the grand prize winner will be offered an opportunity to perform with the Oakland East Bay Symphony under the baton of Maestro Michael Morgan.
