Deadline nearing - applications for Agrippina. We are still looking for main roles to be cast. The role of Nerone is still vacant (can be sung by tenor,soprano or contralto). Cost: €1450 incl. lodging. The International Belcanto Academy’s Music Academy Summer course 2020 will entail three weeks of intensive training. The course will include: individual voice lessons, drama training, rehearsals with conductor, audition training, role study and staging of Agrippina by Handel. This will be performed in Het Lichtruim Theater in De Bilt, The Netherlands. 2020 NARNIA FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL VOCAL ARTS PROGRAM: JULY 15 – AUGUST 2, 2020. Intensive training is offered in voice lessons, masterclasses, vocal coaching, acting, and the Italian language. Productions are fully staged with orchestra. Concert program soloists will perform the Pergolesi Stabat Mater or Salve Regina with string quartet, the sacred concert with full orchestra in the beautiful Cathedral of Narni and the Orvieto Duomo, as well as our gala in Amelia, featuring favorite arias and duets with the Narni Festival Orchestra. The Modern Opera Studio is a result of a collaboration between Opera More and Estate Musicale Frentana, two organizations that for years have been involved in concerts, opera theatre, and workshops in Italy as a way of sharing musical culture outside of metropolitan areas. This summer program has a unique goal: transmitting to the next generation of young artists the experience acquired by professionals that have worked in International Opera Theatres and sharing secrets of the trade. This summer in the beautiful Teatro Fenaroli, selected singers will have a chance to debut in a full version (orchestra and scenography) of LE NOZZE DI FIGARO by W. A. Mozart in LANCIANO in the beautiful region of Abruzzo near the sea. 

Are you ready to dance a Can-Can this summer?  Check out JMU's German Opera Experience!  From May 17 - July 20th we will select 20 students to perform chorus and roles in Lehar's The Merry Widow with a professional company in Schoenebeck, Germany.  The course includes for solos with Middle-Germany philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Lieder concerts and German Language instruction for graduate/undergraduate college credit. Music Theater and Classical Singers as well as collaborative pianists are invited to apply. Awards of $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000 are given to the top finalists, and all finalists receive $300. In addition, there is a Young Artist award and an Audience Favorite award.
