The Merola Opera Program, Carrie-Ann Matheson, Artistic Director and Markus Beam, General Manager, San Francisco Opera Center announce 2023 application opportunities for singers, offering performance opportunities, holistic training, and career development, and provides a weekly allowance, round-trip transportation from residence to San Francisco, and shared-accommodation housing. For five years after leaving Merola, alumni may be eligible, with Merola's approval, to receive up to a total of $12,000 in career grants, with a maximum of $6,000 in any single year. Each year singers and pianists are chosen from the Merola Opera Program to join the prestigious Adler Fellowship Program.  Submission deadline: 8/26/22

The Loyola Dramatic Voice Symposium brings together world-renowned artists and teachers in the field of opera to present masterclasses and lectures for young dramatic singers and for teachers of voice. Full registration includes two days of professional development. Anyone can attend but only 16 auditioned singers will participate in the masterclasses. At the end of the symposium, two participants will be selected to perform on Saturday night with the guest artists. One participant will receive a $500 Encouragement award.  Clinicians include Luretta Bybee, Clifton Forbis, Greer Grimsley, Joseph Evans, Amy Johnson, Carol Rausch, Tyler Smith, and Michael Bunchman. OPERA America will be holding three listening sessions, beginning this Monday, July 25, and subsequently on August 3 and 23 in an effort to work together to build a healthier, respectful, anti-racist, gender-affirming, and equitable opera field with you. The United States Army Field Band Soldiers' Chorus is hiring Soprano and Tenor vocalists!  We're looking for classically-trained singers with the ability to "own the stage" as a soloist in multiple styles. The International Opera Academy (IOA) is looking for Tenors, Baritones and Pianists, interested in becoming a repetiteur, for the next academic year 2022 - 2023 (one year programme). Therefore, the IOA is organizing auditions and offers two options: A live audition at the IOA in Ghent, 18 June 2022 (recommended); An online video audition, for applicants who cannot travel to Ghent or live outside of Europe. "Fabbrica" is the Young Artist Program of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. The participants are trained on the job through coachings, masterclasses, auditions, rehearsals, meetings with contemporary artists, new productions and assistance to the creative teams. The program is open to: 8 singers, 2 répétiteurs, 1 stage director, 1 set designer, 1 costume designer and 1 lighting designer. The fourth edition starts in January 2023 and ends in July 2024. Each participant will receive an overall scholarship of 19000€, to be paid out monthly. Boston University Opera Institute auditions for a lower male voice - baritone, bass-baritone, bass. Auditions will be held on June 9th, 2022, from 12-2pm in Boston for BARITONES interested in Fall 2022 enrollment. The Opera Institute is an intensive, highly selective two-year performance-based training program for emerging operatic artists. Each Institute member receives a full tuition scholarship, and graduates from Boston University College of Fine Arts with a Performance Diploma in Opera. Singers have the opportunity to participate in two large-scale productions with a full orchestra per year, a Fringe Festival of significant one-act operas, and outreach programs.
