OperaFest Sewanee 2023: Deadline January 27!

OperaFest, a 4-week opportunity, offers private coaching, masterclasses with internationally renowned faculty, various performance opportunities, and workshops exploring professional learning. Our program focuses on our three artistic pillars: creation, collaboration, and mentorship. OperaFest provides training on operatic style, diction and language, dramatic presentation, performance technique, professional skills training, and portfolio building. All OperaFest participants will have a range of performance and coaching opportunities, including weekly public master classes, aria showcases, a scenes program, and collaborative performances with SSMF instrumental musicians and composers. Opera in the Ozarks at Inspiration Point 2023: Deadlines approaching!

Deadlines quickly approach for live auditions for Opera in the Ozarks' 2023 season, January 14-29:  Chicago, San Francisco, Norman, Dallas, Houston, New York, Boston, Tucson.  Final application/audition deadline is February 5. Our 72nd season features three double-cast, fully staged productions with orchestra:  L'elisir d'amore, Orphée aux Enfers and The Tender Land -- 7-8 performances each. The Studio Artist outreach opera is Cinderella. Other features: daily stage skills class/yoga for performers, weekly voice lessons, stage combat workshop, resident and guest artist master classes, career development sessions, and Broadway Cabaret performances. 2023 Lotte Lenya Competition: Deadline Jan. 25th, 2023!

A singing competition unlike any other, in which acting counts as much as vocal talent. The Lotte Lenya Competition welcomes talented singer/actors to show they can "do it all" by presenting four contrasting theatrical songs and arias. To celebrate the Competition's 25th year, top prize is now $25,000. More than $100,000 in total prizes will be distributed during the 2023 Competition, with individual prizes awarded after each of the preliminary, semifinal, and final rounds. Application/video audition deadline: Jan. 25th, 2023. No fee. Open to singer/actors of all nationalities, ages 19–32 (born after April 29, 1990 and before Jan. 26, 2004). Chicago Summer Opera 2023:  Deadline coming up soon!

Join us for Chicago Summer Opera’s 11th season! The program provides an opportunity for singers to develop their stage craft while performing in main stage operas. Come to Opera Lucca 2023: Deadline February 5!

Opera Lucca is a summer festival for singers, pianists, and composers. It will be held at the Lucca Italian School in the summer of 2023, June 10th through July 9th. This season we are casting roles in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi as well as in scenes from Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, La bohème, La Traviata, and other bel canto, baroque, and dramatic repertoire. We specialize in teaching Italian opera through a focus on language immersion and expressive delivery of poetry. Our distinguished faculty are experts in operatic Italian. Host family stays are available to further improve conversational Italian beyond language classes. Applications are due February 5th, but early applications are strongly encouraged. The Cooper-Bing International Vocal Competition 2023: deadline 1/15/23!

The Cooper-Bing Competition is an internationally recognized vocal competition that has celebrated and supported emerging young artists in opera for the past 39 years. Dubbed the ”Olympics of Opera”, the competition encourages talent, creates artistic opportunity, and helps welcome the next generation into the professional opera community. Five finalists will compete for the grand prize of $10,000! Join us in the Southern Theatre on April 30th for this electrifying vocal battle royale and cast your vote for a special audience award! Aquilon Music Festival 2023: deadline January 1!

Study and perform in the heart of Oregon's wine country! This summer, Aquilon Music Festival will stage Mozart's Don Giovanni.  We are looking for two casts+covers. Apply by January 1. Our program is geared toward students ready for advanced studies in stagecraft, vocal technique, movement, and diction.  All young artists receive private instruction from well-known voice teachers, language and style coaches, as well as group instruction in acting, dance, and audition techniques. Si parla, si canta! The program is back in 2023!

The world-famous summer program for opera singers is back! "Si parla, si canta!"’s 14th edition will take place on the breathtaking shores of Lake Como, and boasts an incomparable faculty: Patrizia Ciofi, Barbara Frittoli, Kim Josephson, Chris Merritt, Janet Perry, Federico Sacchi, Gabriella Sborgi, Rainer Armbrust, Damiano Cerutti, Stefano Giannini, Brett Hodgdon and Hemdi Kfir. Participants will receive an intensive 76 hours of Italian language class with mother-tongue teachers specialized in opera singers.  Coachings focus on pre-assigned operatic scenes as well as on arias and art songs of their choosing.   Six public masterclasses and four concerts will engage all students in an intense performing activity in several enchanting venues.

The United States Army Chorus is hiring Soprano and Alto Vocalists. Apply by January 30, 2023. Auditions in Fort Myer, VA to be held 27-28 March 2023. From its inception in 1956 to the present, The U.S. Army Chorus has established and maintained a reputation of musical excellence. Beyond the traditional military music and patriotic standards, Army Chorus repertoire covers a broad spectrum of genres to include pop, Broadway, folk, and classical music. Along with performances for presidents, visiting dignitaries and heads of state, the Chorus has appeared in our nation’s most prominent concert halls and music festivals. Annual starting salary between $66,899 - $74,207. Full medical and dental coverage, 30 days paid vacation annually.
