Opera Theater Summerfest (Opera Theater of Pittsburgh)'s Mildred Miller International Voice Competition and Young Artist Programs applications are up! The YAPs are for programs in Pittsburgh and in France, and the top prize for the competition includes $5,000, plus an optional $2,500 contract for the 2013 Opera Theater SummerFest, and a guaranteed place in the Resident Artists Program. Deadlines are October 1st for the competition and October 31st for the YAPs.

Many thanks to Utah Opera for their continued support of the YAP Tracker application process. The deadline is November 1, with audition locations in New York, Chicago and Salt Lake City.

Tenor Justin John Moniz graciously agreed to speak with us about his audition for and tenure with Opera New Jersey. He left the audition unsure of whether an offer would be forthcoming, but as we've garnered both from past interviewees and our own experiences, we singers are not always the best judge of our auditions!

Center City Opera Theater is now offering a combined Young Artist Program, and the good news is that all hired singers will now receive a monthly stipend! The program starts this October in Philadelphia, and the deadline is only 2 weeks away (September 10). YAP Tracker will be hosting their application again this season, and auditions will be scheduled on a rolling basis. Apply early or the slots may be filled before you get the chance!

We're so thrilled to be working with Opera Saratoga (formerly Lake George Opera) again this season to assist their application process. Apply early, folks! The deadline is October 15.

OperaWorks is now offering a terrific new Winter Intensive Program for teachers, singers and alumni, and YAP Tracker is very pleased to be hosting their online application. The application deadline is September 17.

When evaluating an opportunity, an important consideration for many members is whether the opportunity pays or not. We've made a few small changes to make this process a little easier.

Kentucky Opera is the newest company to use our application service this year! The deadline to apply is October 5, 2012.

We are thrilled to announce that Des Moines Metro Opera will be accepting applications for their Apprentice Artist and OPERA Iowa programs through YAP Tracker's online application process this season.
