Scanned/Uploaded Letters

Some companies will allow applicants to submitted scanned/uploaded recommendation letters as part of their YAP Tracker online application process requirements.  What this means is the applicant has a paper copy of a letter and has scanned it in as a pdf or they have been emailed a copy of a signed letter on the recommender's letterhead that they can upload to their profile.  The recommender does not upload the letter - the applicant does. Not all companies will allow submission of a recommendation letter by this method, so be sure to review the requirements carefully.

To upload a letter, here are the steps to follow:

1. Be sure you have the file saved to your computer. Suggested document types are .pdf or word documents.

2. Navigate to the Recommenders option under the My Profile section of the More tab.

3. Click the Add a Recommender link.

4. Complete all fields, and at the bottom will be an option to upload the scanned/uploaded Recommendation Letter.

5. Click Save.

6. If a company accepts a scanned/uploaded letter, you will be given the option to choose that method when selecting the recommender on the application.

If a letter has been uploaded correctly to your profile and the scanned/uploaded method is selected, it will automatically be attached to your application. You can verify this when the dialogue box refreshes and a link to the letter appears.  You can also add a recommender and uploaded letter inline on the application form itself, but we advise doing so through the My Profile section for the best results.

Adding a scanned letter to a previously added recommender

If you've added a recommender previously without an attached, scanned letter, you can edit the recommender's information in your profile to include the necessary document.

To upload a letter to the previously saved recommender, here are the steps to follow:

1. Be sure you have the file saved to your computer. Suggested document types are .pdf or word documents.

2. Navigate to the Recommenders option under the My Profile section of the More tab.

3. Click the option to Edit the Recommender. You'll be able to upload the letter at the bottom of the pop-up window.
