STUDIO ARTISTS: May cover principal roles, sing comprimario roles and chorus in main-stage productions; will perform in a variety of concerts including Musical Theater concerts, outreach concerts and events as well as staged Opera Scenes concerts. Other opportunities will include masterclasses with major artists and industry luminaries; musical coaching as assigned by the artistic staff; and chorus in a concert with the NJ Symphony Orchestra (work to be determined).

It is our mission that ALL participants will benefit from staged public performance, coaching, masterclasses and feedback. Additional performance opportunities are available based on this season’s casting needs and specific schedule as determined by the artistic staff.

AUDITION DAY: Artists have the opportunity to audition for managers, casting agents and other industry professionals from around the region. In prior seasons, many artists received contracts as a result of these auditions!

Admission into Opera New Jersey’s Summer Season is by audition only. Due to an overwhelming number of qualified candidates, submitting an application may not guarantee you an audition.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Singers accepted to Summer 2011 are expected to have roles and pre-assigned music learned and memorized upon arrival.

Participants can be released from the season due to lack of preparation, unprofessional behavior, or impropriety as determined by the General Director and artistic staff.
