Union Avenue Opera - Auditions 2023 Season

Please note: UAO only considers artists for the current season and not future consideration. Applicants are encouraged to consider the season’s repertoire before submitting an application.

All applications will be reviewed and considered in the order that they are received. Applicants are encouraged to apply early. Due to the number of applications received, and time constraints, not all applicants will be granted a live audition. UAO will reserve an equal number of audition slots for each production in consideration. All granted auditions will be in-person at one of the scheduled audition locations. Audio, video, zoom auditions are not being considered at this time.

Rehearsals for each show begin three weeks prior to opening night. There are additional CHORUS ONLY rehearsals in May/June.

DON PASQUALE (Donizetti) performed in Italian 2023 Performances: July 28, 29, August 4, 5. Rehearsals begin July 10

RAGTIME (Flaherty & Ahrens) - Performed in English 2023 Performances: August 18, 19, 25, 26. Rehearsals begin July 31

All auditions for the 2023 Festival Season will be in-person. At this time UAO is not accepting virtual submissions (live or recorded).

There are still spots available at all locations, however specific time blocks are filling up and therefore we may not be able to accommodate all "preferred time block" requests.

APPROVED applications subject to an audition fee (to cover the cost of provided pianist, fee still applicable even if bringing own pianist $40 NYC and $15 STL). There is no fee for artists auditioning for CHORUS ONLY. Fee is to be paid within 5 days of your application being APPROVED. Upon application approval an email will be sent to you with instructions on how to pay. Do not send in payment prior to being granted an audition. All audition fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
