Union Avenue Opera only considers local artists for chorus and does not offer housing or travel assistance for chorus members. To be considered for the chorus artist must audition in St. Louis.

Rehearsals for each show begin three weeks prior to opening night. There are additional CHORUS ONLY rehearsals in May/June.

EUGENE ONEGIN (Tchaikovsky) - performed in Russian 2022 Performances: July 8, 9, 15, 16. Rehearsals begin June 20, 2022

FALSTAFF (Verdi) performed in Italian 2022 Performances: July 29, 30, August 5, 6. Rehearsals begin July 11 2022

A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (Sondheim/Wheeler) - Performed in English 2022 Performances: August 19, 20, 26, 27. Rehearsals begin August 1, 2022. (No chorus roles)

Union Avenue Opera will NOT be hearing for the following roles as they have already been cast.

Union Avenue Opera only considers LOCAL artists for CHORUS. Chorus positions are paid however housing is not provided for members of the chorus therefore artists must reside in or around STL during the production period and be available for 3-4 chorus rehearsals in late May/early June (TBD).

Union Avenue Opera is requiring all artists to provide proof of vaccination at time of audition. *

Failure to provide proof at time of audition will result in forfeiture of audition slot and no refund will be given. Negative COVID-19 test results will not be accepted without accompanying documentation from a medical professional indicating a valid medical exemption, no exceptions.

I agree to provide proof of vaccination at time of audition. Artists with a medical exemption should bring proper documentation from a licensed US medical professional along with a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the audition.

Union Avenue Opera cannot assist in the processing of passports or visas for foreign applicants and requires evidence of legal work eligibility at time of audition in order to be considered.

All auditions for the 2022 Festival Season will take place at Union Avenue Opera in St. Louis, Missouri. We will not be traveling to NYC in 2022 - however we will return in 2023.

APPROVED applications subject to $15 audition fee (to cover the cost of provided pianist, fee still applicable even if bringing own pianist). There is no fee for artists auditioning for CHORUS ONLY. Fee is to be paid within 5 days of your application being APPROVED. Upon application approval an email will be sent to you with instructions on how to pay. Do not send in payment prior to being granted an audition. All audition fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
