Audition Requirements/Selections

Audition Selections*

Professional, Young Artist, and Studio Artist Singers:
Prepare two art songs in two different languages and an aria (aria is optional for Studio Artist program). Applicants are encouraged to include a contemporary song in English as part of their selections, Optional: you may prepare a fourth selection that highlights a special interest. (musical theater, oratorio, new-music, etc.)

Professional Development Applicants:
A live audition is not required, however applicants are strongly encouraged to upload recent videos (include the date of the recording with your submission). If you'd like to be considered for the National NATS scholarship, applicants MUST submit a video audition (audio not accepted). If you'd like to be considered for the NATS-LA scholarship, applicants must also submit a video audition OR give a live audition in LA (strongly encouraged).

Pianists:
Prepare four selections – two art songs in contrasting style and two other works of your choice - arias or additional songs; one of these may be a solo work. Pianists will work closely with all SongFest faculty in both master classes and private sessions.

Fee Disclosure and Signature

A non-refundable $500 deposit (which will be credited to the balance of fees) is due two weeks after acceptance into the program. Housing/meal costs are due in full by March 15th; tuition is due in full by April 8th. A partial refund of $1000 will be given on housing/meals if notified IN WRITING and received by April 8th. After April 8th, no refunds will be given for any reason on any portion of the fees (tuition, housing/meals), including the non refundable $500 deposit.
