Young Artist and Apprentice Artist Programs Application (2022-23)

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the 2022-23 Palm Beach Opera Young Artist and Apprentice Artist programs. 

Palm Beach Opera will offer live auditions in New York on October 22-25, 2021.  For singers who will not yet be fully vaccinated by that date, or who are otherwise unable to travel to NYC, we will offer a virtual audition option by video, which similar to last season will be coordinated with other young artist programs. Steps are outlined below to guide your understanding of the audition process.

LIVE AUDITIONS 

Step 1: Applications are due by Sunday, September 12.

Step 2: Notifications of live auditions will be sent by Friday, October 1.

Step 3: Live auditions will be held in New York from Friday, October 22 through Monday, October 25.  Singers must present the audition monitor with proof of vaccination.  Singers who are not fully vaccinated by the time of audition should choose the video audition option.

VIDEO AUDITIONS

Step 1: Apply to each program as you normally would. Applications are due by Sunday, September 12.

Step 2: Notifications of video auditions will be sent by each company by Friday, October 8. This notification will contain a link to submit a new aria list.

Step 3: Submit your aria list (one list for all programs), indicating your chosen “starter” aria, by Tuesday, October 12.

Step 4: Notification of requested arias from your list (one request for all programs) will be uploaded to your YAP Tracker application on Wednesday, October 20.

Step 5: Record a new video audition and submit the video to each company via YAP Tracker by Friday, November 5.

Additional video or audio files (including opera, song, musical theatre, zarzuela, or oratorio) may also be submitted for consideration.
