Opera MODO - Auditions for Bellini's I Capuleti e I Montecchi and Mozart's The Abduction from the Seraglio

Auditions for Opera MODO's productions of Bellini's I Capuleti e I Montecchi AND Mozart's The Abduction from the Seraglio.  All performances and rehearsals are in Princeton, NJ.

Staging Rehearsal Schedule: Tuesdays and Wednesdays (7-10pm), Saturdays (11am-3pm) and Sundays (2-5pm).  

Please do NOT apply if you are not available:

Bellini Rehearsals: Music (January 15-28), Staging (January 29-Feb 28), Perf Dates Feb 28 & March 1, 2014

Mozart Rehearsas: Music (April 1-14), Staging (April 15- May 8), Performances May 9 & 10, 2014

Casting ALL roles.  Auditions will be held at All Saints' Church, Princeton, NJ on Friday, September 27, 2013: 6-8pm, and Saturday, September 28, 2013: 1-6pm.

Audition requirements: Please bring 2 CONTRASTING arias.  If you wish to be considered for a specific role, please bring an excerpt from that role OR please have one of your arias in the language of the show you would like to be considered for.

Opera MODO is a new and exciting opera company in Princeton, New Jersey, dedicated to creating opportunities for young and emerging artists.  Founded in 2011, Opera MODO brings opera to the people through intriguing and modern productions of classical to contemporary operas.  

Opera MODO is dedicated to helping young singers, performers, directors, conductors, and composers. Singers and performers outside of the world of academia have the chance to learn roles, work in realistic and challenging rehearsals, and transition to the world of professional singing through establishing contracts, deadlines, and self-promotion.

Directors can work with such performers to create a well-informed interpretation of various works.  They learn how to work with individuals within the cast and learn the ins and outs of a collaborative working relationship.  Conductors can establish rehearsal schedules, timelines, and private coachings while working within the structure of a full production.

Opera MODO also provides a platform for composers, workshopping and premiering new works with an excited and dedicated group.
