Opera MODO Presents: Detroit Aria Competition 2017

Opera MODO is excited to announce the first ever Detroit Aria Competition! In conjunction with Christ Church Detroit, we are proud to be investing in our local and tri-state area (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana) artistic communities, and supporting those singers who continue to make art a focal point in their lives.

Pre-screening (due by July 19, 2017): 2 recorded arias in contrasting styles and languages (videos preferred)

Finals located at Christ Church Detroit on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 7pm (Participants in the Finals will be informed by July 20, 2017)

ONLY accepting applciations from residents of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana

The competition has two categories:

Rising Stars Category (ages 16-21): Christ Church Detroit Prize of $300

Emerging Artists Category (ages 22 +): MODO Prize of $500, Christ Church Detroit Prize of $250, Audience Choice Prize of $250
