Please note that Minnesota Opera no longer requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination for live auditions.

We will be holding our annual live audition tour in Minneapolis, Houston, Los Angeles and New York City. In addition, we will again offer video auditions. We encourage live auditions whenever possible, but welcome those who are not available or unable to sing in-person at one of our audition locations to apply for a video audition. Applicants who are granted a video audition will be required to record and submit two selections in one continuous video recording (without stopping the camera). Repertoire for video auditions will be selected by the singer. Guidelines for repertoire selection and video production will be provided.

Video applicants should apply using the form below in the same manner as live auditions applicants, indicating "Virtual Audition" in the drop-down menus for location.

Step 2: Record a new video audition and submit the video to MN Opera by Saturday, November 14, 2026

LIVE AUDITIONS

Step 2: Notifications of live auditions for Minnesota Opera will be send by mid-October.

Step 3: Attend your live audition.

Preliminary Audition Repertoire List*

Preliminary audition repertoire must show a variety of styles and be offered in at least three different languages including English. Operetta and oratorio arias are acceptable substitutions.

- 5th selection can be another aria, musical theater or art song

- We encourage to present at least one aria that shows coloratura if it is in your repertoire
