2022/23 Barbara and Halsey Sandford Studio Artist Program Application: SINGERS

Kentucky Opera is auditioning for the 2022/2023 Barbara and Halsey Sandford Studio Artist Program. Sandford Studio Artists participate in mainstage productions as principal, comprimario and cover roles as well as singing in the chorus. In addition, they participate in masterclasses, workshops, lessons and coachings and perform in recitals, community engagement, marketing and patron cultivation events and performances.

For the 22/23 season, we encourage late romantic (Italian), bel canto, and an English selection as primary audition repertoire. All repertoire is subject to change.

The mainstage season begins in August 2022 and runs through February 2023. Artists will be contracted per role/production and not necessarily for the entire season. Additional engagements may be contracted outside of this time period.

Video submission requirements:

Live auditions: Audio and/or video of 2 arias of contrasting styles (at least one video required).

Virtual auditions: 3 videos of arias in contrasting styles - one in Italian, one in English, and one of the singer's choice, all made within the last 6 months.
