Program Information

Vocal Program* Please indicate if you have a preference for a certain intensive program. HPAF will accommodate applicants' program preferences as space and audition results permit. Regardless of assignment, students are encouraged to attend classes from both programs as their daily schedules permit.

If you are choosing to audition by recording, you are required to submit three contrasting tracks along with your application. Please provide a selection of pieces that demonstrate your level of mastery of a variety of technical and stylistic abilities, including coloratura/flexibility and legato, if possible.

College, Graduate, and Pre-professional Applicants: Depending on your interest in the different areas of the repertoire we are covering this summer (Mozart, Baroque or verismo), please prepare 3 songs or arias selected from the following 4 categories:

Any Baroque Italian composer or Bach, Purcell, etc.
Any song or aria by Mozart
Any song or aria by Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini, Verdi, or any of the Italian "verismo" composers listed
Any song from the American or British musical theater or operetta repertoire.

High School students:

1. A song from standard Broadway repertoire in English
2. A classical song or aria in any language
3. A contrasting Broadway song in English, or classical repertoire song or aria in a language other than that for selection 2
