The purpose of the competition is to encourage emerging singers of all voice types to explore the repertoire of George Frideric Handel.

Minimum age 18 years old. Suggested age limit 35 years old. Applicants over 35 will be considered on a case by case basis to determine whether their experience qualifies as emerging artist level.

Audio Recording

The submission should consist of an unedited audio (no video) recording of two Handel arias, one in English and one in another language. They can be from any Handel work (opera, oratorio, motet, etc.) Please visit our website for complete requirements: handelariacompetition.org. Label recording with your name and titles of arias. Piano, harpsichord, and/or instrumental accompaniment will be accepted for the recording; however, the finals will be accompanied by harpsichord and instrumental ensemble at A=415 Hz. Technically poor recordings will be rejected. Number of selections required: 2.
