Florida Grand Opera Studio Artist Program Application (2023-24)

This application closed on Friday September 30, 2022.

We will be holding our annual live auditions in Miami and New York City. For those unable to attend live auditions, virtual auditions will be given consideration. Steps are outlined below to guide your understanding of this video audition process, followed by information about our live audition process.

Important Note: Special consideration will be given to lyric baritone candidates to join the studio in January as part of the 2022-23 season. For information on season programming, please visit fgo.org.

Step 2: You will receive notice whether a video audition has been granted on Friday, October 7. This notification will contain instructions on how to submit an updated aria list.

Step 3: Submit your aria list, indicating your chosen “starter” aria, by Tuesday, October 11.

Step 4: Notification of requested arias from your list will be communicated by Friday, October 21.

Step 5: Record a new video audition and submit the video by Friday, November 4. Exact upload procedures will be shared with audition notice.

COVID-19 Note: All live auditionees must be fully vaccinated and bring records on the date of an audition. Anyone who is unable to provide this information should choose the video audition option.

Step 1: Apply to FGO as you normally would. Applications are due Friday, September 30.

Step 2: Notifications of live auditions for FGO will be sent by Friday, October 14.

Step 3: You will select an audition time via YAP Tracker. You will have the option to change audition times if necessary, but FGO cannot guaratee a refund of your fees in the event of a cancellation.

Step 4: Attend your live audition and present the audition monitor with your proof of vaccination. Please note: you may choose to wear a mask for your audition. If you wish to remove your mask and do not have pockets to place it while you are auditioning, you may simply wear it on your wrist.

Free Application Window: Singers may submit their materials for consideration at no cost until Monday, September 6 at 10:00 am ET. After this deadline, applicants will pay a one-time $20.00 application fee.

At this time, FGO cannot commit to a decision deadline, but every effort will be made to relay information to successful candidates in the spring of 2023.

Note: Please do not select "Miami" as your audition city if you will be unable to make arrangements to audition there. FGO is generally unable to accommodate audition city change requests once audition slots have been offered. FGO's rehearsal space and administrative office is conveniently located near the Miami International Airport. Rideshares are very reasonable modes of transportation between the two.
