For the 2026 season, we will be accepting recorded auditions for all applicants.

The CoOPERAtive program, established in 2006, has long been a trailblazer for crafting a unique program for the developing singer. In 2026 we will continue to forge a NEW PATH, crafting a program that addresses skill sets that are not readily available to many singers for the WIN.

When you join us in July 2026, you will learn from the experts (composer, librettist, music director, stage director) and grow your expertise so that you are work ready when offered your first opportunity to create a new role in a new opera.

CoOPERAtive is thrilled to feature a collaboration with composer/librettist Michael Ching on his new opera, Overheard. Many of you know this famed composer for his innovative opera Speed Dating Tonight!, based on a concept by Dean Anthony, which has been performed over 150 times, making it one of the most popular operas of the 21st century.

Additionally, auditors will be welcome to attend. We especially encourage young composers and librettists so that they can experience how to take new opera from “page to stage.”

The cost of the tuition is $1250 for singers and $350 for auditors. Note, this is not the cost of taking the course for college credit. The Bursar's Office will set the deadlines for payment.
