The Berkeley Community Chorus and Orchestra (BCCO) is accepting applications for soloists for its spring 2027 concerts as part of a new Vocal Soloist Program. The featured work on the program is the Requiem by WA Mozart. Because the solo parts in the Mozart Requiem are short and/or are parts of ensemble solos, we ask that rather than submitting a sample from the Requiem, that you instead submit any Mozart aria or similar Mozart vocal solo of your choosing. Applicants will be judged exclusively on the Mozart submission. We expect that the soprano and bass winners will also perform as vocal soloists for the Gabriella Lena Frank composition that shares the concert program with the Mozart even though judging will not touch on this work.
