2017 Young Artist and Apprentice Singer Auditions

Ash Lawn Opera, located in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia, provides training and performance opportunities for emerging singers and pianists. Our 2017 summer season, featuring artists who have worked at the Metropolitan Opera and other renowned companies, will consist of Rigoletto and Oklahoma, performed at The Paramount Theater in downtown Charlottesville. Young Artists, Apprentice Singers, and the Young Artist Pianist will be featured in mainstage performances, cover mainstage roles, and perform in outreach performances, master classes, and auditions. Young Artist voice applicants must submit the following:

Excerpt from Rigoletto featuring the role which you hope to perform/cover. N.B.: a recording of the specific part is preferred, but a stylistically similar recording is acceptable. Informal recordings are welcome.
Additional aria of choice
Excerpt from musical theater. Selections from Oklahoma are strongly preferred, but excerpts by or in the style of Rodgers & Hammerstein will be accepted. Please, no belting.
