Narnia Festival is an established music festival in the historic city of Narni which is located in the Umbria region of Italy. Each summer in July, Narnia Festival offers a spectacular array of classical music, drama, and dance coupled with a cultural festival celebrating the magnificent history and cultural magic that only Narni can offer.

Internationally acclaimed pianist and composer Cristiana Pegoraro is the Artistic Director of Narnia Festival (www.cristianapegoraro.com).

This year’s program features a special masterclass series with Maya Hoover from University of Hawaii, and renowned New York agent PETER RANDSMAN from Randsman Artists Management for a week of master classes and one on one consultations in career development. Mr. Randsman is proud to be responsible for the careers of over 50 internationally successful opera singers performing at esteemed Opera hourses throughout the world including The Metropolitan Opera, Seattle Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, Washington National Opera, LA Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Milan, Vienna State Opera and The Liceu in Barcelona. The International Vocal Arts Program is an organization whose aim is to offer eager musicians and singers from all nations the opportunity to pursue the art form of opera and classical singing through internsive training, and to perform in exciting full staged produtcions presented as part of the larger Narnia Festival.
 
The International Vocal Arts Program provides a unique opportunity for students and emerging artists; our internationally accaimed faculty offers diverse and intensive training which includes:

FULL OPERA PROGRAM culminating in two performances of CARMEN by G. BIZET directed by Andrea DelGiudice with the Narnia Festival Orchestra at the historic opera theater of Narni.

POSITIONS: (Singers) Leading roles, supporting roles, soloists, cover/understudy, ensemble and chorus.

The Concert and Oratorio Program will be presented in a sacred concert at the Cathedral of Narni, performances of the STABAT MATER and SALVE REGINA by Pergolesi in a unique candlelight concert at the Church of Santa Maria Impensole – 1.175 B.C. (Umbria Segreta), OPERA IN AMELIA with orchestra, and various concerts in Narni.

EMERGING ARTISTS PROGRAM (July 22 – August 4)

The Emerging Artists Program offers the opportunity to study with internationally renowned Italian and American teachers, coaches and conductors, sing in master classes, perform supporting roles and chorus in the full opera productions. If an Emerging Artist applicant is interested in performing a supporting role in the full production, they must present a live or audio/visual audition. The program provides opportunities for singers to receive guidance and connections to some of the world’s most prestigious universities and conservatories.

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM (July 21 – July 29)
The Narnia Festival Vocal Arts High School Program is for students in the early training stages and/or entry into the world of opera and musical theater. The festival encourages high school students to apply. In addition to the intensive training, we provide incredible performance opportunities to sing in venues in the beautiful region of Umbria, Italy, that are simply magical!
Participants can expect full immersion in authentic Italian culture, music, food, concert attendance, festivals and language for nine days. High School students perform in a specially designed evening performance where they are coached in song, musical theater repertoire, receive daily rehearsals and coachings, Italian language immersive classes, daily yoga, excursions, acting classes.
